    Yamaha Drives Loud?

Interested in the “replacement” concept. Are you indicating that you had a loud motor that developed a habit of turning itself off - couldn’t be solved, so the unit was replaced and the new one is quieter?

    My motor says SyncDriveLife, thanks.

    Yamaha Drives Loud?

Thanks. A good idea on trying to get a better idea of what is going on. I generally ride in eco and only pick up the assist on a steep hill. I also want to experiment with higher assist as I believe it is less “noisy” when I have done that. That’s why I thought maybe it was a clutch of some sort...

    Yamaha Drives Loud?

Thanks. I was looking for confirmation of the sound and not a problem and my only base of reference was a Bosch and that is basically imperceptible. That made me think mine was some sort of clutch malfunction and that seemed like $$$ in the future.

    Yamaha Drives Loud?

Hi I have a Giant Explore E +3. I am surprised by how noisy the drive system is. It seems like it is less noticeable when you have shifted up to say 5th gear. It is very noticeable at lower gears. It has a sound similar to that of loud/aggressive tires. I have never noticed it in my wife's...

Bike Insurance? ebikes not covered under homeowners/renters, & >750W not covered by bike insurance

Hi. I'm probably going to place this in a couple of different related threads. I'm thinking that we want to make sure that our eBikes are insured. My wife's a Trek Verve 3, mine a Giant Explore 3+. We have never done anything with our other bikes (road, Mountain, cross, tandem) but with the...

New Ebikes for first time buyers for Seniors

I’ve done a little bit of looking and it seems like waitlist everywhere for the Thule Easyfold XT 2. If anyone knows of someone with supply, let me know.

New Ebikes for first time buyers for Seniors

I wrestled with the same issue (Moved from MN to Milwaukee 5 years ago) here in WI. It however becomes very difficult when trails frequently dump out on to sections of urban streets for interconnection. In those interconnected routs it is often helpful to have the extra speed capability in a...

Platform Bike Rack for Bike with Fenders

Think I'm down to the Thule Easyfold Xt2 vs. the Kuat NV with the "Trail Doc". The thought of having a spot where I could clamp a bike to do some maintenance was a drawing factor for me, but the ease of use for the Easyfold really looks impressive and I like the folding ramp. Don't know that I...

New Ebikes for first time buyers for Seniors

I think you will love them, but like has been mentioned, don't wait. We got my wife a Trek Verve+ 3 low step last year and she loved it. Made riding fun again. I decided in fall to look at a REI Coop Cty e2.2. Only two in North America. Finally gave up on those when there could be no...

Platform Bike Rack for Bike with Fenders

We just got a second eBike so now we need to be able to transport them. We have a 2019 Ford Ranger with a 2 inch receiver so a hitch mount seems to be the way to go. I worry about a rack that can handle to two different styles. One bike is a Trek Verve 3+ which has a step through frame. The...

    Best Locks for Ebikes

I thought posting my lock question under best EBike locks would be good. I have an OnGuard U lock with a cable. I suspect I am exposed with the cable but I got it for instances where the U lock is not long enough to attach to the anchor, or where we needed to lock two bikes together. I know...

Trek Verve 3+ vs CO-OP Cycles CTY e2.2. Electric Bike

Does Specialized use their own proprietary motor and how well do they perform/hold up?

Trek Verve 3+ vs CO-OP Cycles CTY e2.2. Electric Bike

Well I've been communicating with REI locally and nationally and it appears they have no idea when they may receive bikes this year. Think the supply chain is still very fragile with Covid. So I've begun wondering if I need to be looking at the Trek Allant +7. I was originally thinking about...

Trek Verve 3+ vs CO-OP Cycles CTY e2.2. Electric Bike

Does that mean I’ll get a pony if I buy an ebike or does it just mean I can actually negotiate a good price 😉

Trek Verve 3+ vs CO-OP Cycles CTY e2.2. Electric Bike

I must ask. Is Crazy Lenny’s the old TV Lenny’s from the 70’s - 80’s? I used to do work in Madison back then.

Trek Verve 3+ vs CO-OP Cycles CTY e2.2. Electric Bike

Thanks Wheel & Sprocket is our go to shop. Several Trek Road/Cross/Mountain bikes in the garage and a MelPinto Tandem. Know nothing about Crazy Lenny's, will check that out. Thanks Larry

Trek Verve 3+ vs CO-OP Cycles CTY e2.2. Electric Bike

Hi All. Thought I owed you an update from my last post of Oct. 11, 2020. Well based upon the comments I received here, I had decided to proceed with at least trying the Coop Cty e2.2 at the local REI here in Milwaukee. I called them and they had a methodology where I could buy then try and...

Trek Verve 3+ vs CO-OP Cycles CTY e2.2. Electric Bike

Hi. Thanks to all the members for all the good input. Thought I owed you an update. First to McCorby, you're correct, the Brookfield store does have a shop and from what I've heard a fairly good one. That was a big motivator for me to consider the bike. And you're also correct Wheel and...

Trek Verve 3+ vs CO-OP Cycles CTY e2.2. Electric Bike

Hey thanks for the response. Yes this bike does look nice too. I guess my only concern is that I couldn't ride it ahead of time? Maybe I also might be concerned about who could service in Milwaukee? Any maintenance or even just software updates? Oh one think I forgot to mention on the REI...
