THE NEW RPB CITY STEP THRU - CITY & TRAILS TOO

Yep that makes sense. Haibikes even look tall. My inseam is only 29" so I set all my bike seats at 30" and I'm good to go. Might run out of seat post trying to set the distance at 36" or more. Clint Gibbs has lots of experience with biking and he has this video on setting seat height.

THE NEW RPB CITY STEP THRU - CITY & TRAILS TOO

The Step-Thru is more compact making it easier for shorter riders to control. In order to allow more room I pushed the steering extender all the way forward (shown in my pics above) and at the same time that puts a little more weight forward on the front wheel to help keep it from sliding out...

THE NEW RPB CITY STEP THRU - CITY & TRAILS TOO

Hi solrus Let me introduce you to a very knowledgeable bike mechanic named RJ The Bike Guy found on Youtube. Look around for more on the same topic because RJ along with a few others know everything regarding bikes and they were good enough to post their knowledge in some excellent and...

THE NEW RPB CITY STEP THRU - CITY & TRAILS TOO

Hi solrus and welcome to the RPB forum. Both seats are comfortable and the Cloud 9 seats get most of the use. I switch around using all three of my bikes and the Step-Thru usually has the EBC tan seat mounted on a chrome Suntour shock seat post. I'm using the Step-Thru more often right now so...

    Long term reliability?

Hi kloxxe I do all my own servicing because it is so easy and haven't had anything on my RADs break, burn out, or run away from me. I ask the service department at RPB for info on occasion and they always reply the next day. So what I can say is that RAD Power Bikes for the most part sell...

How does your Rad City Step-thru fit you?

Hi ebikemom There's no reason why a direct drive shouldn't work for starting out. I throttle mine while peddling to start out and gives a little boost to get you up to speed quickly. The difference is that it doesn't have the sudden burst that geared hub motor has when you hit the throttle. Big...

How does your Rad City Step-thru fit you?

Hi AugustMainer, Yep that's Pacific time 9AM (PDT). Thought I would also mention that if you miss out on getting a bike on your first try, check back the next day to see if they are taking more orders on it. I had to wait two or three times before I got my Mini order processed. The next day on...

How does your Rad City Step-thru fit you?

Hi AugustMainer, Be sure to put yourself on the email list at RAD and they will send a notice a few days before they get a new stock of bikes in. They won't process any orders until after 9AM so have the page up and running and your order in the basket and ready to buy just after 9AM. The reason...

THE NEW RPB CITY STEP THRU - CITY & TRAILS TOO

I took these pics after realizing that my review didn't include any shots of my handlebar arrangement, one of my first and most important changes. Although you will naturally sit upright on the City Step-Thru, it wasn't enough for my liking, so I improved it. Most of us older guys prefer to be...

THE NEW RPB CITY STEP THRU - CITY & TRAILS TOO

Hello AugustMainer and welcome to the RAD Power Bikes forum! Glad you found my review informative, and yes I will be happy to provide some info about the fit. I read your post yesterday but couldn't quite figure why the concern because the City Step-Thru handlebars sit a little closer to the...

Whats a good seat replacement for the hard Radcity seat?

Hi Knighthonor, The seat was the first thing I switched. I never even sat on one of those hard stock RPB seats. The Cloud Nine is a big seat and seems to be very popular around here and has spring action to help absorb some of the shock. Another excellent seat can be purchased from...

Off-road hill climbing ability mid-drive vs rear hub

Hi Little Bear and welcome to the RAD Power Bikes forum. I would first suggest watching a lot of the biking videos found on YouTube, and you will probably see the difference in how the different e-bike motors work, each being favored for somewhat different riding environments. I love my Rover...

Mod to alter PAS control from factory buttons to "throttle style" twist shift?

You hit on the problems with the main switch perfectly MadManMark. It's really my one and only gripe about RAD from the git-go because it forces the rider to fumble more often than not, when just trying to power up the bike. Actually I'm surprised at the few comments (were there any others) that...

    Accessory help for new RadMini

It would be nice if some enterprising fellow would design an airless tire that can retain all the good characteristics of tires at the different pressure levels they are commonly used at. I delved into the possibilities of using airless tires last year before purchasing my RAD Rover, but those...

    Accessory help for new RadMini

Hello Vern60, glad you chose the RADMini. I think that was the right choice too. Funny that all the riding I do where cactus is known to leap out into the path, I seldom ever get flats. My pickup truck gets more flats than any of my bikes ever have, and that includes when I desert raced...

    RadRover or VeeGo 750?

VeeGo - I noticed a lot of similarities with the RAD bikes. RADMini - I did a review on it in the RAD Power Bikes forum along with reviews for the Step-Thru and the Rover. Probably show up with a search of my name. Those reviews and some of the threads from other members should provide lots of...

    RadRover or VeeGo 750?

Hello Vern60 and welcome to the forums. That's an excellent question. I have a Rover so can answer for that one, and for the short answer, if you stand 6 feet or over, then go for the Rover. If not, then read on. I had my eye on the VeeGo before buying the RAD Mini, but there was no support or...

RadMini or RadCity/RadCity Step-thru? Need help to decide which one to get

mrgold35 said it all. Can't add anything more except I solved the problem regarding making this choice by getting both those bikes. Still cheaper than buying one Pedego, if that's any consolation. Good luck Larryv and happy trails...
