Stromer still viable in the USA?

After spending 2 weeks in the Keys over Christmas with my wife and both my ST2s, we had enough and took them back to the dealer for warranty repair. My wife's bike would take off full power without operator action, and my ST2 would work fine unless it got wet then total electrical failure. We...

Stromer still viable in the USA?

I just got off the phone with PEDELEC located on the west coast in South Florida. Phil the owner helped get me up to speed on the current status with a better insight into Stromer USA. Phil is Swiss and of course German is his first language. He not only has company contacts in the US, but...

Stromer still viable in the USA?

After full review of the thread and what was reported, I stand corrected in my view and the misunderstanding. All in all it looks as though a venture lost and truly no recourse but to attempt repairs under less than promised warranties. Trek has some nice bikes.

Stromer still viable in the USA?

No response from Stromer USA since September 18th regarding both of my ST2s exhibiting power assist failures as reported by numerous others. Anybody know what Stromer's financial status is? Are they preparing to file for Bankruptcy? Has anyone had contact with Mike Lohmann, Service Manager, USA...

Stromer ST1X - motor failed before reaching 100 miles

Yes, I was caught in the rain also and generated an error of DX210205, the next day I attempted to go to the grocery store. I ran the SIT test, experiencing numerous errors and failures. I now have a 67 pound bike with pedals, it's pretty much unserviceable. After trying the battery 20 second...

Stromer still viable in the USA?

Yes not much help from Stromer through warranty work. I have to pay for all adjustments, repair work and frustration for such an expensive bike. However, the benefit and pleasure outweigh my frustrations for working with such a complex bike. For one the exercise has been beneficial, looking at...

Stromer still viable in the USA?

Recent email from Mike Lohmann with help on my two ST2s losing power assist. Turns out one of the bikes was improperly torqued at the rear hub. The factory torque is now set and of course the bike is working better. Hi Mike, Sorry for the delayed response. What we'll want to do is first test...

Stromer still viable in the USA?

No doubt, Mike has done right by me! Got me back on the road. May have gotten my other bike back in shape with an update and a suggested torque setting. We shall see. No power cutouts on this evenings ride with my wife's bike. I hope he finds some good techs.

Joel was an asset for Stromer for sure, as he was instrumental in troubleshooting my stuttering motor and getting my power cables to me for both my ST2's. I was wondering what had happened.

Stromer still viable in the USA?

I agree, extremely dedicated when Mike starts troubleshooting, in fact I did receive an email today from Mike with advice on getting my second ST2 working after an extended quiet period. Good luck with your ST1. Awesome bikes when they work.

Stromer still viable in the USA?

Stromer USA is very quiet lately, or is it me. Was working with Mike Lohmann | Service Manager, USA and Canada in troubleshooting the 2 ST2's I purchased this summer. I was able to get one bike back to factory with a new power cable and Omni, and started on the other when I received this auto...

    ST2 Motor "Judder"

Sounds like the power cable to the hub motor. Its most likely 1 phase of the 3 phase electrical power driving the motor.

    ST2 Motor "Judder"

My ST2 is back and studder free after replacing the power cable from the circuit board to the hub motor, as original. Thanks go out to TREK bikes of Atlanta and Mark the shop mechanic who's is quite a wrench when it comes to bikes. I hope my other Stromer remains stutter free and out of the shop.

    ST2 Motor "Judder"

Spoke with Joel at Stromer USA, really great guy who answered all my questions about warranty, service and what to expect with Stromer regarding my current electrical failure. It turns out, and I agree with him that unfornately 1 phase of the 3 phase motor has lost connection, most likely the...

    ST2 Motor "Judder"

Yesterday, June 24, 2018 I was returning from the grocery store, descending down a short hill, no recup, just brakes. I made a 90 degree turn to the left at about 2-3 mph, straightened the handlebars and applied pedal pressure. My ST2 (1 month old, 380.7 miles) immediately lost power and started...
