Let me start by telling you where NOT to go !!! I bought a Stromer (sport) from the guys at NYCE wheels and the motor died within 30 miles on a new bike... They did not stand behind it .. They were a tremendous headache and their practices are border line fraudulent... Email me for specific...
Yes there is a battery in the display.. And be very careful when you remove the display and then put it back on.. It seems as if the plastic on these displays have the structural integrity of cheese.. They snap very very easily..
im in Jacksonville, Florida... I went ahead and ordered her a ST1 step through with a 16.5 inch frame... Hoping it will be small enough...

Looking for this particular model Stromer Sport step through with the 15.5 inch frame (for the wife)...
I ordered a new one (old stock) from NYCE last week and they sent the 18 inch model by mistake and now they dont have anymore 15.5's in stock..
A google search shows both Beacon and Fresch...
I dont commute to work, race, or jump hills.. Just an occasional weekly stroll....
Not concerned about weight , looks, or price... Just comfort... I find the factory pedals to be somewhat small and uncomfortable.. Ref. Stromer sport Thanks guys ..
