    CCX intermittent power

Your contacts seem to look ok. Mine had plastic melted onto the pins. The only thing I’ve done is use a 24” Velcro strap near the top of the battery that I ordered off Amazon. IMO, I think that’s a better option than a zip tie since I think there’s less play/stretch and it keeps the battery...

    CCX intermittent power

I never take the battery off the bike and keep it velcro’d to the frame at all times. I don’t think that makes a difference, but who knows, maybe it helps. My bike was working fine with no strap for a few months before the problem developed. All it takes is for a little looseness to develop...

    CCX intermittent power

Fwiw I bought this off Amazon, it’s $7. I only use one 24” strap. I have the CCS. CandyHome 20pcs Reusable Fastening Cable Straps and Cable Ties Set, Adjustable Multipurpose Hook and Loop Securing Straps for Cord Management https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WVCGC37/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_.lUyCbP9XMR6H

    CCX intermittent power

I haven’t had any issues, so I’m not going to press my luck making any changes. They sent me a new connector when I first bought my bike since I had connection issues from day one. That fixed it for a few months before the connector melted. I never received a new connection kit though when I got...

    CCX intermittent power

I believe I received a replacement battery in August and haven’t had any issues since. I keep a cheap velcro strap attached at all times and never take the battery off. I don’t know if I’ll develop any issues again in the future, but I definitely would recommend securing the battery with a...

    CCX intermittent power

That’s what happened to my battery. Unfortunately, your bike is basically unusable now until you get a replacement battery. Did you have a strap for the battery? Since I got my replacement battery and had it strapped to the frame, I haven’t had any issues since. They really need to address this...

    CCX intermittent power

I have no clue how often this will occur. Maybe it’s only 1%; maybe it’s 10%? It’s just a guess. I had a battery fit issue on day one. After getting a new battery downtube interface, I had no issues for a few months until the connector melted. I received a new battery, but didn’t get another new...

    CCX intermittent power

Again, I’m not an engineer, but it seems like a very simple and cost effective solution is to just make the male connector spring loaded so it’s applying constant and direct pressure against the battery connector. It only takes a small amount of movement to cause the connection to fail where the...

    CCX intermittent power

That's good the straps resolved your issue. I have one velcro strap that I use to keep the battery to the frame. I think it's been about 4-5 months since I got a new battery, and I haven't had any power/battery issues since. It's not ideal, but it works. Juiced really should come up with some...

    CCX intermittent power

You might need a brand new battery if the contacts have melted. If you look at my thread from a while back, I had the exact same issue. The bike would work on occasion, but then suddenly cut power after riding for 5-10 miles. I’ve had a new battery now for about 5 months and haven’t had any...

    CCX intermittent power

I’m certainly not an engineer, but it seems like a simple fix could be making the socket spring loaded so that it would provide constant lateral pressure to the pin connector. Just my uneducated guess.

    CCX intermittent power

Yes, there’s two 24” straps. I just ordered this pack since it was the cheapest I saw on Amazon, even though I only needed the one 24” strap. It wraps around the battery and frame and keeps it secure.

    CCX intermittent power

It’s too bad they haven’t fixed this issue. It seems to be a flawed design, even with the tube being widened to accommodate a wider battery. There’s still nothing that keeps the battery from moving laterally. I bought some Velcro cinch straps off Amazon a while ago, and haven’t had issues with...

Sudden loss of power for 1 second

You might have one or both of these issues. The first is a battery fitment issue, where the battery has some looseness to the frame. The other is you might have some damage to the pin connector. I had power either completely cut or cut out very briefly before regaining power. Check the pin...

Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

Thanks, I just took my bike to the local bike shop, and they actually referred me to a different one. I'm going to wait to see if there's anything Juiced CS will do or recommend.

Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

Did you have to get the rear wheel rebuilt, and did you order a replacement rim from Juiced or find another option? My rear wheel developed a crack about a month ago. I had the rim trued up and it lasted about a month and is out of alignment again. It looks like the crack is bigger now and...

    cross current s question(s)

I live in San Francisco and there are lots of steep hills. I haven't ridden on any of the very steep hills yet (24% grade or higher), but my route to work and the gym has 10-15% grades but over distances of less than half a mile or so. I have the bike in 9th gear most of the time, but will...

Three months with CCS: Good and Bad

I picked up my bike today from the shop. They said I have a dent in the rim, and it possibly may have a slight crack. It took a while for them to true up the wheel. I'll have to keep an eye out to see if the rim is ok. I definitely plan on checking the spokes and tires often. Hopefully my rim...

Three months with CCS: Good and Bad

I’ll give a different example. I bought a Jeep 4 years ago that had transmission issues out the gate. I had to take it in 3-4 separate times before it was finally resolved. I also seem to get a recall notice every few months and lemon law letters every week. I actually never thought I’d buy an...

Three months with CCS: Good and Bad

I wouldn't say I'm patient or have any brand loyalty to Juiced. I definitely wish I checked out other bikes before I purchased this. The upfront cost vs. feature set was compelling, but I didn't fully consider potential issues with buying a direct to consumer bike. I've even contemplated...
