Got my 1st "cheater" shout today

Yes, ignore it. Or stop, have a chat and educate the person politely about ebikes so he will know better next time - you could even give him a go. The former is quicker and not at all inflammatory. The latter takes much more time, can lead to a scuffle if he misreads your approach and, will...

    Back to Square One

Interesting. They say it's an "urban" bike so I wonder if they will have a legal version and a "race" version. They can't fake it with a believable, "it's meant for off-road use" with that one though.

I don't see that step through frame on M1's site - did I miss something?

    Back to Square One

From the specs I've seen, the reported torque of the average hub motor (30 - 40Nm with the odd exception going higher) is way below that of the average mid drive (60-80 with the stronger ones up to 120Nm). These are from motors <= 750W.

Any RadRover contributors out there ?

I ordered custom Big O fenders for my Fatbike last autumn and it took a week or two for them to be made. It's a relatively small operation as far as I know so a large influx of Rad and Sondors orders would probably take some time to fulfill.

Team Bafang wins at the 24 hour E-Bike race at the Nurburgring in Germany

Here's some amateur video of the Bafang tent at the race - you get a glimpse of the bikes they used; I can't really find anything more in-depth about the bikes they used or race though which is a pity.

    BBS02 750w dissapointingly unreliable

Apparently Lectric cycles and Em3ev speced the same mosfets from Bafang so Bafang decided to use them in all new 750W BBS02 controllers - so as long as the BBS kit was made from now on, no matter the supplier, the kit will have the new mosfets. I guess it'll take some months for the new supply...

    Here's a fun ride

That would be great! :D I can't imagine many people willing to pay for that though.

Team Bafang wins at the 24 hour E-Bike race at the Nurburgring in Germany

According to the info page, "In principle, pedelecs with the most diverse drive concepts are permitted to enter the race, the maximal drive support system is 25 km/h." I didn't see any limit on wattage but I could have missed that - and, it's usually the 250W motors that have the 25km/h limit...

One also has to wonder where all the other motor manufacturers were...

Team Bafang wins at the 24 hour E-Bike race at the Nurburgring in Germany

So as I read that, there were 12 Bosch teams (using their middrive) and 1 Bafang team (using the new Max drive with the torque sensor I assume). And the Bafang team won. Pretty impressive I'd say.

You get hate even here in EU land.

    LCD display for Sondors eBike

Court mentioned that Sondors may come out with one eventually. I believe some people are looking into using the Cycle Analyst but I've no idea if that's feasible. Have you asked on the private Sondors Facebook "support" forum?

Can't get up to 23mph - bummed out

My point with that list was that there are many options without the shortcomings the OP raised. I understand the torque sensor issue - yes, it would be nice if the Bafang had that, but many other mid-drives do have torque rather than cadence sensing. The Evo race looks okay - I would prefer a...

    LCD display for Sondors eBike

Well, from my experience of 4 inch tires, he'll be okay with anything from 8 to 15 psi. The speeds and distances he's stated sound about right compared to what others have reported. He should certainly try out lower pressures (8 to 10 psi) - I'm guessing that he'll lose little in terms of...

    LCD display for Sondors eBike

Nope, it's a myth. https://janheine.wordpress.com/2010/10/18/science-and-bicycles-1-tires-and-pressure/ Edit: This is a little easier to read: http://cyclingtips.com.au/2009/03/what-is-the-optimal-tyre-pressure/

    HNF Heisenberg XF1 - "the world's first mid-motor, belt-driven full-suspension e-bike"

Yeah, I'd buy the 45kph S- version for sure (assuming my wife would talk to me afterwards - which she probably wouldn't). ;)

    Stop hating ebikes

Nice videos. And there will always be hate from some of the silly crowd - it's their loss if they think ebikes are for old people or "cheaters". :D

Can't get up to 23mph - bummed out

Well, my post was kinda tongue in cheek - perhaps a smiley would have made that more obvious - though I think the bike really is a little ugly with that seat tube that's actually a bulky square battery. I normally wouldn't comment on the looks of a bike because it's such a subjective thing but...
