Its impossible to rum the battery to zero....because the motor wont run once the battery voltage goes down below certain voltage, My suggestion is based on not running the ebike to the point that the motor and the BMS cutout. For the first dozen or so drives, its best to not take the battery...

\ I have a wattsmeter and also have a simple inexpensive LCD voltage meter on my wifes ebike. I have found that the LCD voltage meter is a cheaper and simplier alternative to keeping track of battery power. I think most newbies, really don't need a more expensive wattmeter and a $ 6 LCD...

If a person will only be riding on flat road surfaces, then it is likely that this sondors ebike will work fine for them, if they weigh more then 200 lbs. For me, this sondors ebike would not have a chance of travelling up our hilly roadways .

I would suggest to not take the battery down to " dead" on the first dozen or so rides. Its usually best to break in a battery and not overstress it right away. If you have any type of ability to solder, you can buy a inexpensive LCD voltmeter off of ebay and solder it inline coming off your...

a geared hub motor is much better for pedaling then a direct drive because the direct drive has more resistance . The problem with the sondors ebike, is that if the owner plans on doing a lot of pedaling, they only have 1 gear to chose from , unless they are willing to try and modify the...

FWIW..... my wifes electric dolomite fatbike weighs around 70 lbs , and my wife weighs around 160 lbs . So that's a total weight of 230 lbs and her ebike will do 30 mph, and we regularly ride on dirt trails, gravel roads, harsh conditions.

IMHO...claiming certain adult bikes cannot or are not meant to be ridden over 10 MPH isn't completely factual. A lot of the stress a bike encounters is due to factors like drivers weight , and driving conditions. I certainly would be concerned if someone that weighed 300 lbs and wanted to...

Yes..I switched the forks around on purpose to try out a idea I had. This is the cool thing about DIY..and modifying things . If it doesn't workout as expected , just change it back. I also make all my own battery brackets from aluminum that are mounted in the center of the frame and make my...

The front bike is my wifes. It is a Mongoose dolomite fatbike . I paid $179.99 for it new ...then bought a new 1000 watt - 48 volt brushless direct drive hub motor with 30 amp controller for $ 194 and then a new 48 volt- 20 ah lifepo4 battery for $420 . So for close to $800 , I built a new...

I build my own ebikes because I do not wish to pay the high prices of premade ebikes that have the power/ battery capacity I need for my weight and riding conditions. Ill try and upload some photos f my ebike and my wifes thatI built.

If sondors could have made this ebike in a large frame , and allowed the middle of the frame to have extra space between the top tube and the horizontal down tube , it could have easily allowed a larger battery to be mounted in the center. As far as the stock 350 watt geared motor goes , it...

I was impressed by the yellow/ black color scheme of the Sondors ebike. I also like that it was designed for proper battery placement with the battery and its center of gravity. I find it ridiculous that there are still many ebike manufacturers making $3000 ebikes, and mounting their battery...

My estimates would be : 1. A run of the mill adult bicycle made overseas , that costs the consumer $200 , actually cost the manufacturer around $50 to make . 2. A generic - 500 watt - 36 volt rear brushless hub motor - direct drive kit with controller, costs the consumer $200 , actually...

I think the most appealing thing about the sondors ebike, is its looks . If it had been offered in different sizes { S-M-L } , I may have bought one, just based on looks alone and then modded it with a higher powered direct drive hub motor and better battery.

In the beginning, I almost went with a mid-drive BBS02, but after lots of research , it seemed it had numerous problems/ complaints about failures along with the extra stress on chains/ gears, etc. Its also expensive . In the end, the simplicity and low cost of direct drive brushless hub...
