Upgrading brakes on a 1000W hub motor bike

Hi, I´m replacing the mechanical breaks and rotors. I read around that not all calipers fit with a hub motor so I wanned to make sure before buying. Some have to install a bigger rotor or they manage to file the edge off the caliper.

Upgrading brakes on a 1000W hub motor bike

Hey! I´m finally upgrading to hydraulic breaks. I´ve been searching around and i´m considering the shimano M315 mostly because of their low cost. The set comes with 160 and 180mm rotors...

    Controller mod and wiring questions

Hey, before I short circuit or burn out my controller I thought I asked first. The throttel that came with my kit has a clicky switch to turn the kit on and off. I took it apart and replaced it with a Key Switch, so no one could throttel the motor when the bike is parked. The thing is... I...

Looking to buy some Statorade Ferrofluid

Hi, I´ve been trying to find a source for this Ferrofluid in the EU but the cheapest I could find sets me back 33 euros for 10ml. I was wondering if any member here had this stuff on spare and could sell me some. Thanks

Might have damaged my battery pack! ;(

Despite the short, after replacing the cell, I tested every row at 3.5V, just as they came. I´ll try to charge it tommorow, outdoors of course, and see what happens. My pack is pretty much done, with BMS and all, but there is still time to solder some extra wires for Cell Logs. might be a good...

Might have damaged my battery pack! ;(

Here in Portugal we have battery bins all over the place that accept lithium cells aswell. I might try to leave it in salt water for a couple of days and see what happens. Cool story to tell the kids :P I had a "similar" experience with sodium, I was 14 in a chemestry class and I was 2 feet...

Might have damaged my battery pack! ;(

Ahahah kinda like "ElectroBoom" the indian guy who shocks in self on purpose I get your concerns... If I lived in a flat or were surrounded by people and flamable materials I wouldnt be doing this stuff. In this case theres not much that can go wrong other than hurting myself. I´m lucky that...

Might have damaged my battery pack! ;(

It took me a while but I manage to pull the cell out of the pack and replace it, its all good now! I lost a couple hours of sleep but Im relived that nothing happened and i´ll be able to use the pack. But I now see how dangerous these things can be and cutting corners is a bad idea. I´ll never...

Might have damaged my battery pack! ;(

Off road, I already placed the pack in a box and will sleep under the stars on my garden. What a wierd ending! erider, I will give it a try! The ideia of heating up that battery makes me nervous tho....

Might have damaged my battery pack! ;(

Don't know if I can do it Volt.... As I was gluing the the first 3 cells of the 6P row, I quickly realised it wouldn't fit in the box, so I began cutting and pulling the hot glue with a scalp and pliers and used a flat head screwdriver driver to try pushing them apart. They went traight to the...

Might have damaged my battery pack! ;(

Thanks for the heads up friend....I will follow the advice! I am stress out because I dont have the tools with me! so I was making sure, from your explanation, that this cell as it sits, isn´t in iminet danger of exploding/catching fire! This is my first pack so I dont have experience dealing...

Might have damaged my battery pack! ;(

Let me describe what I see...... The metal shell melted, and it exposed the outer layer of lithium.... It did NOT puncture through layers, Just exposed the top layer! That being said, do you think it can still over heat or catch fire?? I was reckless.... I wanned to see how the pack would sit...

Might have damaged my battery pack! ;(

So this just happened.... The battery shorted on the aluminium box and now one of the 18650 has a melted hole on the side and it exposed the lithium! I can see some oxidation on the top layer happenig right now. It is not overheating. I also smelled the lithium, was like acetone. I had the hot...

Downhill e-bike first build! advice needed pls :)

Thats what I was thinking… It would either give a little push or act as a full power switch… what a bummer. Looks like I wont be able to throttel with no hands then :( Anyway I´ll test it and report back. Yeah basically this throttel Is my LCD panel xd thanks for the help ^^

Downhill e-bike first build! advice needed pls :)

Yeah I suspected this was a low end one. I didnd´t see the need for a LCD (aside from the PA), I can just buy a speedometer and shunt mod the controller to see the power consumption if I want. Sorry what you mean by long and short push turns? You think I could buy the LCD seperatly to have the...

Downhill e-bike first build! advice needed pls :)

This charger outputs 58,8V exatly. I open it up and there is no pot inside so I´ll have to experimente using diodes. Yeah I dont know why I wrote 14S in this case :P My kit just came in, It was one of the cheapest ones out there, but I soon noticed there are no buttons to control the pedal...

Downhill e-bike first build! advice needed pls :)

I´m not going to build a charger, this is what I´ve ordered: (58,8V 3,5A): (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) Note in the description the seller says he can adjust the output if need, so maybe there is a pot inside. Yeah most laser diodes were between 3-6V @ <1A, thats why I used the 1N0007...

Downhill e-bike first build! advice needed pls :)

I remember a few years ago when I was in the Laser hobby, I used those diodes alot to make laser diode "dummy loads" ( used 3, 4 or 5 of them in series with a 1 ohm resistor to get a desired load). Thats why they came to mind :) I put the link for my charger in my first post, does it seem any good?

Downhill e-bike first build! advice needed pls :)

Hi, yeah a bigger diode would be needed in this case. Only one way to find out :b If it doens work I´ll try to mess with the pot. Can you put the link for your charger pls?
