    Vado 5 battery life

The battery measurement of the Vado is seemingly nowhere as accurate as the previous generation Turbo S/X/FLT which had a lot of brain in the battery.

    MISSION CONTROL APP...

I've been told it is now January 2018 :-( Dealers are sounding unhappy.

How to multiply the life span of your batteries

I'd say (a) good luck doing that without a charger that supports that and (b) I think quality BMS like you'll find in your Turbo battery would already charge to just short of 100% I have done 11000km on mine and the battery has probably lost 5%

Tested Turbo Levo WATT output, surprising results...

What this says is that the Levo had a 20A controller so can consume up to 720W. No surprises really. We also know that the Brose motor has higher torque than most, and in the Levo form is geared to haul up hills. It will be quite different on the flat. I do a comparative real world test for my...

    MISSION CONTROL APP...

Your retailer should have told you that the mission control and Bluetooth for the Vado range is not ready yet. They are saying November.

    Turbo Como

Had a quick look at the new Turbo Como 2.0 yesterday. Same drive etc as the Vado, but a relaxed 'cruiser' geometry, balloon tyres. Hopefully will get to ride one soon and will report. [update by Court] here's the webpage for it: https://www.specialized.com/us/en/turbo-como and this one had...

    Service cassette freehub anyone?

Yikes! I'd be inclined to have a word with Specialized customer service. If it's not a wear part, it shouldn't wear in such low mileage = manufacturing defect.

    Service cassette freehub anyone?

That's useful to know. I've got slightly more mileage than you and mine is still OK but I should be on the lookout in case they are getting worn - I don't freewheel much... I shouldn't think you need a whole motor!! They will no doubt sell the freehub assembly separately. @kermit_xc I also got...

    Turbo S buying advice

Include a new battery in your cost-benefit analysis. A four-year old battery is likely towards the end of its life.

Turbo X became nonresponsive and has been at the shop since late July

Doesn't sound good.... OTOH I have done 10,000km on mine over a year and it has hardly missed a beat, it has been an outstanding bike.

    The new turbo Vado 2017

They are incompatible - that app only works for Levo and older Turbo S/X. The new one is promised for November only :-( I wouldn't be surprised if the Bluetooth requires a firmware update to activate it - I couldn't detect any bluetooth signals at all from the bike.

    The new turbo Vado 2017

The Vado 3.0 bikes in NZ are being shipped with 45kmh (demo models are all limited to 32) - I haven't ridden one unlimited but suspect that it won't actually go that fast on the flat. But it is always nice not to be limited, I really didn't like the way the Vado cut in and out, not very...

    Repacking a Turbo battery

The 'brains' of the bike are all in the battery, and here is what happens when you get past 10,000km - it goes to zero, and there is stays... I thought we'd all learnt from Y2k.

    The new turbo Vado 2017

Hi @Wildfirewon I am interested in your issues - what exactly is happening? I had some issues during testing with the display freezing, but that didn't affect the ride. To make it go again I just had to push the reset button under the Bloks display. Also aware that the Mission Control App isn't...

    Mate ebike

I have ridden dozens of ebikes for reviews, and spoken to many more people who own them. Truth is, there are no bargains in this industry. You get what you pay for. If it is cheap, it is lower quality, quite simple. You need to compare bikes at a similar price point. That is, until someone...

Has anyone ever actually repacked a Turbo battery?

    Those Koolstop pads

Hey @Douglas Ruby these are my front Koolstop pads after 6000km - I have a spare set for when these finally wear out and the wear surfaces are barely distinguishable from the new ones! So if anyone who is suffering with Formula brakes needs an incentive to switch, just do it. Note that if you...

    The new turbo Vado 2017

On my last test session I was advised to ride with a plastic bag over the display. Even so we had some odd things going on with the display. So they have identified issues with the mounting and water ingress, but I suspect there are also firmware bugs on the 3.0/4.0 controller causing it to...

How often do you replace brake pads?

My koolstop pads in the previously-awful Formula C1 have done 6000km.
