Hi gang,

The new Juiced Scrambler is out. Pretty cool and (I think) even more powerful than its predecessors — before Juiced was owned by Lectric. Clearly meant to be a dirt bike-style ride; looks like a ton of fun.

Welcome back, Juiced.

One feature I noticed, “parent mode,” looks like a real winner to me. I know a lot of folks here on EBR detest this style of ebike (I don’t), but I think “parent mode” might be a good solution for many folks with minors who would be riding these. I’m not sure about the details yet, but it seems like a really good idea! I hope they put it on all their (future) bikes.

FYI, I should mention this beast is 85 pounds of fun. I was thinking of recommending something like this to my (110 pound) sister, but I think not. :D

It may be too much to hope for that they’ll be working on some new RipCurrent or road-ish bike product(s). The fact that they lead off with the Scrambler and the Nomadix (e-dirt-bike: https://juicedpowersports.com/) doesn’t exactly light my fire.

We've had responsibly ridden gas dirt bikes for decades. Have yet to see one on an MUP or in a bike lane. If this e-dirt-bike ends up in those ranks, great — good riddance to all that 2-stroke noise and pollution.

But if it ends up on public streets and bikeways through the actions of Juiced, deceptive dealers, stupid parents, and irresponsible riders — well, that's the last thing legal ebiking needs right now.

The new Scrambler is regulated to 20mph on throttle, and I doubt that you can easily make it go faster, so that means most kids will not be lusting for one. They want fast no-name Amazon emopeds! This Scrambler is a good start at revitalizing Juiced, and as mentioned before being backed by the same team as Lectric is great. I can't wait to see one in person and hopefully get a test ride!

I doubt that it will take more than 24 hours to de-restrict it, and get that out on TikTok.
