How many doctor visits have you had?

When I purchased the Hyper Scrambler 2, I didn't investigate my fit on this bike. The picture looked like a minibike. I bought it, hopped on, and my toes barely touched the ground. When going off road over rocky terrain, if the bike leans to one side, I crash . The weight of the bike took me down, and I was injured every time. Currently, I'm seeing a doctor for a messed-up neck and back. After a year of this crap, I purchased a new ebike. Just for kicks, I was wondering if anybody out there went through what I experienced.

I think for the most part you're on your own with this experience.
That said.. the self appointed forum Grand Poobah often touts that he's an expert crasher having had hundreds of accidents 🙃

I've had a couple of tumbles, aching hip, sore knee, gravel rash. But I just wait it out and the body heals itself, last place I'd go would be a doctor! A physio perhaps, a chiro, but not a GP. All they want to do is pump you full of cortisone now and I'm having none of that.

I still had a swollen leg two weeks after a crash. Saw doc. Got checked for clots. Passed. Got better on my own,

Five years ago, an insurance underwriting exam found (not visible) blood in urine. Second test was clear, but I saw a urologist anyway and entered his house of pain. Yow!. Nothing found, Figured biking was the likely cause, and I put good seats on all my bikes.

I have had four crashes, two mud, one on ice, and last on a gravel washout, while ebiking. I haven't woken up on the side of the road. Know two people who can't remember what happened.

I bought a Velotric 2 Nomad. It's still in the box, because I have been very busy doing chores. This bike has an adjustable seat, a step-through design, and is very light. All the features that my "suicide bike" hyper scrambler 2 didn't have.

Had one fall over on our tandem when we were new at it when a dog ran out. I landed on the end pod, the handlebar sticking up right where my leg and hip join. Massive hematoma. Nothing docs can do. Ice and keep it moving. Second time was almost in my groin when I clipped a pole on the tandem. So I know nothing could be done. Then on my new bike, the front slid out on a metal plate. Got a great knot below my knee. Still a little there after at least 6 weeks. I had to check it out to just make sure. It was sore. It treated my muscles on the back of my leg and calf that was far worse.

Hurt myself worse on my little sit-down scooter. Once fell over and used my left arm to stop it and tore the rotator cuff and several muscles and that still hurts me over 10 years later. Same one Slid on a flush railroad track and split my lip. They made me go to the ER for stitches.

Great reply. After reading that, my neck and back don't hurt as much

That's what I'm doing now, letting my neck and back heal

Did you see a light at the end of the tunnel? Glad to have you back.

I wiped out my 10-speed about 25-30 years ago on a wet wooden walkway and ended up with a 2 inch cut above my left eyebrow and a puddle of blood.

I went to my GP who said that he didn't have the equipment to give me stitches and I needed to go to the ER.

I didn't want to wait 6 hours in the ER, so I went home and crazy glued my eyebrow back together.

I went mountain biking the next day.
I always wore my helmet when I was mountain biking.

I didn't bother with a helmet on my road bike because I never hit my head while road biking. 😁

I fell off the bike giving my friend a seater on the bars.
I wrenched the top of my thumb from under the nail and a half inch back right off, a big flap which I pushed back together and held with tape.
It turned black and fell off.
So I had this huge bit missing, thumbprint gone.
A thick hard welt of skin formed over it.

Within 6 months it all grew back including the complete thumb print with full sensation.

Back in the 80s mountain biking in the local mountains the Ballyhouras I was bombing down a firebreak and misjudged a bunny hop over a little stream/gorge couple of feet across, all rocks, and landed, spectacularly, in the middle of this stream on my face. I had multiple little cuts all over, swollen cut lips bruising etc and back at home tried to hide it by washing the dirt off before dinner (I was 15 or 16) but my mother just glared at me and said nothing. My friends thought it was hilarious and christened that descent "The Break Yer Face" descent.
