    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

Thanks for letting me know about it, Cal. Fingers crossed they’ll send one out. That silver one is absolutely gorgeous!

Well spotted Cal. So Scott get in first In the US! Prices are pretty high compared to Canyon but not unexpected with tariffs on the TQ bits at least, and not Direct-to-Consumer. And the enviable 28mph cut-off! Bah. Not sure the price will necessarily put everyone off…this is a niche bike, and...

    New TQ Motor

The 60 has the two mechanical clutches, like the 50. I’ve not heard about TQ efficiency data - haven’t they always played things close to their chest? I’ll ask.

    New TQ Motor

I know you guys will be excited too…but I have TQ’s ‘Frankenbike’ HPR60 test-bed bike in my store room…it’s a Domane+ SLR6 but with extras. TQ have sent it to me to review their new ‘60. The ‘60 had been retrofitted into an older bike originally fitted with the 50, so without the new heat fins...

I know what you mean - but I absolutely love the look of them! At least Canyon have devised bars that are width adjustable and can be easily lowered…the stem length is size related too…but overall, this is definitely something that should be customisable - preferably before purchase with these...

Lol Lol Rás! You’ll have to find one open before you can rob it! Many thanks. TQ are sending one of their test road bikes with an HPR60 next. Should be interesting to feel the difference.

I just found this…news to me!

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

The HPR50 has two physical clutches, the 40 only 1. The second clutch has been replaced by software, which led to some tiny cut-outs in power if the rider didn’t pedal perfectly, which lead to the software upgrade Stomp posted. I’m keen to try it out - and no, I don’t get to keep the bike...

Aha! Thanks for that, Stomp. Bit cheesed off that TQ didn’t let me know as I thought I’d been working with them on getting the brief interruptions reported on and sorted, but I’m happy they brought the release forward so that I can test it before the Canyon goes back.

    New TQ Motor

Just a slight aside, but I was talking with the HPR40 product manager at TQ and asked her whether a full-power TQ was in development. She said she couldn’t say, but then mentioned that there were ‘exciting new developments in the pipeline’. You read it here first! Of course, it could be a new...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

Reading these last two posts really has me wondering why bike brands are only slowly changing gearing options on their e-road bikes. The last Gain I tried has a 12s 11-30 cassette with a compact crank. How many riders, now needing e-assist, would be happy with that? (Other than those in...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

I’m not 100% Rás but I don’t think the Praxxis chainset is swappable, so it would have to be done at the back alone. Currently in the UK, but when I get back, I was going to make a short about trying to climb a 38% hill on the Canyon. If I can do that (but frankly it’s incredibly unlikely!) but...

    2025 Vuelta a Espana

I loved The Least Expected Day series. You can now find edited highlighted similars for many of the teams online. I wonder if we imbibe too much into our cycling superstars…Jonas had nothing to give today, yet despite not being able to overtake Joao in his pomp, lost only 4s, and retains 46s…he...

Aftermarket carbon frameset that fits Mahle X35 system...

Lovely! I’ve been meaning to make a video about repurposing Orbea Gain’s etc as they age with different assist systems - you’ve done exactly what I was planning. What Wh have you managed internally with that Lapierre?
