Bosch Walk Assist (Not Smart System)

That's what it is supposed to be. It is meant for pushing it up some steep ramp or very steep sections when MTB. Especially when loaded with touring gear or camping gear. And that is when you want it to go really slow. I even set mine on the bikes I take for off-road camping lower. So if you...

Bosch Walk Assist (Not Smart System)

They do. Try again. The motor spins a certain fixed cadence. It even works with no speed sensor. Even the cut-off speed is ignored. You can test it by putting a magnet on each spoke and run the walk assist. The faster the gear you chose, the faster it walks.

Bosch Walk Assist (Not Smart System)

Walk assist goes 6kph in the fastest gear, so you should have used a faster gear. That is set with the maximum gear ratio. And never push the bike when using the walk assist. If it moves too slow, hold it back. The bike needs to do the work. If it senses that you are helping, it stops assisting...

New Bosch Gen1–Gen4 Unlock Tool – No Chip, No Errors, Full Reset

There is no risk in changing the wheel circumference. I do that all the time. And yes, the odometer and speed will be off by whatever difference you set it.

New Bosch Gen1–Gen4 Unlock Tool – No Chip, No Errors, Full Reset

Same here, but for the Bosch I do it myself. I even cranked up the torque by modifying the electronics. The one rebuilt Gen 2 Active Line that usually comes with 50Nm is now more powerful than the CX. As I had to replace all the bearings and gears after it was in the ocean bay, I just did a...

New Bosch Gen1–Gen4 Unlock Tool – No Chip, No Errors, Full Reset

Just go to your local metal shop and they can make a disk like that for $20. It is scary how easy they make it to get around the limiter. That is no problem here in the Wild West. But for some European countries this will eventually have them change the laws. You are already screwed in some...

New Bosch Gen1–Gen4 Unlock Tool – No Chip, No Errors, Full Reset

I actually do that for free for my friends here or if I sell a motor. Setting the wheel circumference to half shows half speed. Cuts off at real 40Mph or 50km/h. If you want to have it back to real speed, just put in a second spoke magnet. I made my own tuning chips for Bosch already in 2012...

New Bosch Gen1–Gen4 Unlock Tool – No Chip, No Errors, Full Reset

Even Gen 1 (not released in the USA) has USB via Intuvia (but not the old HMI) All BES 2 bike computers have USB. I guess this user just mixed up the Gen 3 with Gen 2 or Gen 4. And I think I have seen this Software thing. Not sure, but sounds like some Bosch ebike guy has a side business. Might...

There is no such thing as a Gen 3 Performance Line CX.

Random power issues with error code that the battery disconnects.

I have seen Bosch batteries where the plug/flat connector was not fully snapped in on the BMS board. You wiggle it, it disconnects and reconnects. Could also be a pinched cable.

Dreaded Error code 500 after 18000+km. Can I just swap a motor?

No. But it does fix it most of the time.

Dreaded Error code 500 after 18000+km. Can I just swap a motor?

Any BES2 motor works with any BES2 display. If it is an Active Line, you can even make it more powerful than a CX by adding 2 510 Ohm resistors in the right place if you want to.

Dreaded Error code 500 after 18000+km. Can I just swap a motor?

It will work. Unless you have eShift and get one for Derailleur. You cannot reprogram it. Only a few people or the manufacturers can do that. You can replace it yourself if you have the tools. If you asking about programming, the dealer cannot reprogram it. If it is a Generation 2 motor, try...

Opinions on Bulls Cross Mover Speed?

I had a new Schwalbe Marathon Plus tire here that I installed on the rear. As they are pretty puncture proof, I would not recommend to run them tubeless as it is a mess whenever you really have to put in a tube on the road. And by the way, I get all my tires from Germany. So much cheaper even...
