First Build Direction; Test Motor Voltage, Safety Logic

Thanks for all of that. I will reference this when I get to it again after some pre snow priorities. I will reply to this hopefully tonight.

First Build Direction; Test Motor Voltage, Safety Logic

This is a light/slight frame. I have a feeling though that it might be a 500w hub. I am not sure though. Is there an easy way to measure it? We often want to choose more power but I don't want to die on it. Racing means constant maintenance and repair, and shorter lifespan. I'm usually pretty...

First Build Direction; Test Motor Voltage, Safety Logic

I haven't seen a temperature sensor but I guess it would be in the internals of the hub with a feed wire to the controller? If it exists it would indicate on the readout? I'm not sure what a low voltage safety is. So you are saying maybe I should go with a 48v battery just to sidestep low...

First Build Direction; Test Motor Voltage, Safety Logic

If this motor likely ran at 36v, would 52v battery be OK? Would a 52V battery be too much for a controller rated 24v, 36, 48v? Thanks

First Build Direction; Test Motor Voltage, Safety Logic

I have been given parts from 2 friends. The electric front hub has no markings. The DC Motor Controller says it's good for 12V, 36V, or 48V. How do I test the motor to see what voltage rating it is so I can buy the correct battery for my build? Nothing is coming to me.

INTERNAL PARTS AVAILABLE FOR REAR HUB MOTOR?

Hmm. Maybe it's the clutch that broke up and he threw it away. If that's the case it sounds like it's garbage, and I should focus on the front wheel hub motor I have?

INTERNAL PARTS AVAILABLE FOR REAR HUB MOTOR?

Where do you find the clutch. Could this 'plate/cover' over the coils be the clutch?

INTERNAL PARTS AVAILABLE FOR REAR HUB MOTOR?

That's great; I'll try ebikes.ca. I get what you mean about cross border orders. I do it when I can't find it on this side or it's a better buy. Has Amazon got decent batteries, or torque arms? The frame I'm thinking of using is ultra light so the forks could be some kind of alloy rather than...

INTERNAL PARTS AVAILABLE FOR REAR HUB MOTOR?

The fellow I got it from first of all called the missing part a 'plate', and then he called it a cup. He said it was broken or cracked up so he threw it away. I wonder if it was just an elaborate dust cover? I don't even know what kind of material it was made with. I have a front hub motor...

INTERNAL PARTS AVAILABLE FOR REAR HUB MOTOR?

Sorry the quality isn't that good on some of them.

    Here's those pictures. Thank you.

INTERNAL PARTS AVAILABLE FOR REAR HUB MOTOR?

I can try to attach some pictures if that will help?

INTERNAL PARTS AVAILABLE FOR REAR HUB MOTOR?

I'm new to ebikes so I have my first question. I have been collecting parts to build one; today a friend gave me a bag of components that nearly closes my search. The rear hub needs an internal part. It's a cup shaped cover over the copper windings. It was broken so he threw is away, so I...

    HELLO EBIKE FORUM

Hello from Calgary. What a grand summer we have. Summer is supposed to be hot. I have nearly got all the parts to build my first bike. I will post a thread in the repair section. Thanks for letting me in. I wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member. Grouch Marx
