To Peak or not to Peak that is the question:

I don't deny the science or the laboratory results, I just have my own experience and factual results to draw upon out of the road at higher PSI and narrow, lighter tires. The main discrepancy in this discussion is the higher air pressures of narrow tires. Run yours (whatever width) at 40 PSI...

To Peak or not to Peak that is the question:

Lycra riders beating you down the hill is due to aerodynamics... their body position. I can tuck too, but the wide tires and knobs do push a lot of air. Lost in all this, my original point was why change an ebike to narrower tires? To go faster! Took my Dash from 45c to 38c, 40 PSI to 65 -...

Have you reviewed the bike? Shared your experience with it up in here? Just curious what you think of it. -S

To Peak or not to Peak that is the question:

Because it is all about traction off the line!

To Peak or not to Peak that is the question:

At the same inflation pressure, a wide and a narrow tire have the same contact area... I've never seen a wide tire rated anywhere near the pressure of a narrow tire. How is this a logical comparison? 45 vs 65 or even 120 PSI for example. The second reference even suggest lowering air pressure...

Since they are importing that model I don't think it would make any difference where you live (nice hood btw). Looks like a decent bike, I like how the motor is encased VS a Bosch with plastic covers. Thumb throttle and full ergo grips are nice too. That is quite a wait, maybe you should get a...

How do you carry water when you ride your Haibike?

Backpack with: 2nd battery, lock, aspirin & ibuprofen, tums, money, clothes, camera, G9 etc. Or just put a small water in the doggie backpack. Looks like you found a good one. -S

    That Tesla home battery price...

Maybe you can put one on a Bob trailer! That would be hysterical. -S

"The Stromer ST2 electric bike..., it should not be street legal"

Oh no! A click trap ;) Now if I can just find a way to bill $60/hr on my Haibike like my $4k workstation, not a mac. -S

    "Its a super-lightweight, fast ebike..." Q & A with Innovator

BTW the section of FWY he rides is open to all courageous bikers, I have traversed it many times. Calling it the World's first legal ebike ride on 5 freeway is a stretch. -S

"Same Great Workout, Just Faster and More Fun"

You'd think using the e-bike without the motor running (all 50 lbs of it) for the comparison would really skew the results, making the runs with the motor much easier. Personally I'm doing a bit more Sport mode (PAS 3 of 4) these days to get a better burn. I suspect this topic will remain...

Anybody with 2015 IZIP Dash motor shutdown from overheating?

I dunno but it is Torrey Pines grade in N San Diego and the next hill north if you want to look em up. I did about 18 mph up that bugger, average closer to 22. Is your motor too hot to touch? -S
