Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

OK so I think I'm going to put the rotors on and see for myself. I've wasted money on more expensive tests in the past, so a 25$ rotor rendered non-returnable is not the end of the world I guess. I will report back how it went.

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

Yeah that would be one way to go for sure. I just don't find the Tektros as readily available around here, and my impatience is kicking in 😄 I also would love to know if anyone has tried that combo before and if it's just Shimano's BS or it really causes an issue...

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

Well I described (and showed) exactly that, that the contact area is 3.7mm less than the pad's area at the lowest point, but it then proceeds to fully cover the pad as seen in my last picture :) So it's neither fully covering, nor constantly lacking contact. More like alternating between a...

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

Thanks @Shifty Shane, @Base and everyone else ( I'm bad at multi-quoting from several pages 🫣) So... Reading an earlier post saying most aftermarkets rotors in a shop measured around 17mm contact patch I went ahead with the MDR-C Maguras and... as I was afraid, their contact patch at the lowest...

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

Just browsing Shimano's literature. Maybe that's a Shimano rotors and pads thing though and aftermarket rotors are made to work with both pad types? Don't want to waste 30-40 EUR just to try, it surely must be something others have come across. For sure, and I will. I have found the correct...

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

Thanks for that. Do you mean 16-17mm between the inner diameter of the rotor where the big pockets are, to the outer diameter? In other words the contact area height for the pad? If so, I just measured 16,7-17mm on mine (depending on how parallel I can get my caliper) but seems to be the same...

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

My ebike came with 160mm front rotor (it's got 180mm at the back for some reason) which I find small for the weight, motor, speed characteristics. I want to upgrade, once, and go with 203mm. To my surprise, the BR-MT410 2-piston calipers are extremely limited in rotor options, or so does Shimano...

Guys, my tires are just fine thank you!! 😄 They are Kenda GIGAS 26.x4.0" Knobby but not the knobbiest out there (pic below) . I feel like they are meant as a light SUV/urban tire? I go through off-road terrain without issues but at the same time I have not noticed any traction loss even at...

Uhm, not sure what you mean, I am on the original 170mm Bafang crank arms and original pedals with which the bike left the factory. Are you saying there is a design fault with that? and if so which dimension/clearance are you talking about in specific? PS. No it's no moped, for me at least, I...

Interesting. I have now received, after recommendation from the manufacturer, a hanger extender to try and see if it cures the slipping, and a replacement hanger all-together if the extender does nothing to address the issue. I'll try those first before considering swapping the drivetrain to...

Do you also experience cog slipping when giving it everything you got on the highest gear and highest PAS at the same time? I've read similar complaints about the M620 in that situation. If I'm being honest that level of effort is not really sustainable for more than a couple hundred meters at a...

Fortunately I have access to an extended bike road network around here so driving in city traffic is almost never the case, at least for any meaningful distance/duration. Still, I have found out that bike roads are not all "carpet-like" so on a bike like this you are able to maintain your speed...

Exactly, it's not that I don't recognize their weaknesses, would be silly not to do so, it's just that I happen not to be impacted or care for them, over their positives. You can always sell and switch to a different bike anyway if you don't like it but after a month I can gladly say I did the...
