A couple mods I've done on my BBSHD

I just came across a Dork Ring variation of this mod. https://www.instructables.com/Modern-post-2000-Front-Freewheeling-Bicycle-FFS/ I like the zip tie for testing because the force goes to zero when they break, and you know if you have chain control issues. But once everything is settled down...

I found a Stromer in need of work

Stromer was an early high end Swiss Ebike builder. Lot's of proprietary parts. Torque Sensing and regen braking I believe. Parts were only available from captive dealers. They may still be around but this was an early model. A friend of mine bought it, couldn't make it work. So it got added to...

A couple mods I've done on my BBSHD

Just an update. These recumbent chain management parts are working great. Very solid, no attention needed, they stay in adjustment. The breakaway zip ties are not breaking any more. No big deal if they do, but nicer if they don't. This chain management solution seems to be working just as well...

A couple mods I've done on my BBSHD

The ES thread has calmed down. It will have 2700 views soon. It's strange still. No replies or feedback, but 20 views per day? I don't link to that one because of all the nonsense there. But it seems to generate the most interest, and least response!

A couple mods I've done on my BBSHD

I've come up with a couple "new" mods for my BBSHD.. They're both existing tech. but new for this application. The chain retention mod I'm going to list first because it's needed to do the 2nd one. I did them in the reverse order, and discovered I needed the 1st one to get the 2nd one working...

I found a Stromer in need of work

A local thrift shop has a Stromer ST1 Comfort womens frame bike. https://www.rei.com/product/135727/stromer-st1-comfort-electric-step-through-womens-bike It was stolen and the wires to the display are pullled out. Comes with charger ETC. On consignment from original owner. The single chain ring...

    chain line

Dropping the chain is the issue. Mostly over bumps. It sort of worked with a derailer as a chain guide. Mine will never fail. It will never be on my bike again EVER. Maybe my need to run an 8 speed chain was part of the problem? On a single speed, or IGH with no derailer I could see it working...

    chain line

Usually with a BBSHD you need an inset chainring to get a good chainline. This means a range of 42-48 teeth. To space outwards any of the chainring adapters for the various bolt circles will do that, and the sizes can get smaller. You didn't say what wheel size and intended use. Wide/Narrow...
