Yer, that's something to look at. Changing the cable to change the gender was just to open up more options as 99% of the UART displays have the female connector.

Think what I'm going to do over the weekend is to pull the controller out of the bike and see what cable it is that runs to the controller. Hi there. The DZ40 has the male connector, the female end is the cable that goes to the controller. I've got a rear hub motor, think it's a G010 Bafang made. Yes, I've tried the conversion leads as well, that didn't work at all. That's the pin out for the display that is currently on the bike.

Yes, it's a Bafang motor. I've tried using a cable similar to change the gender of the lead but it didn't work with the display i got. So, do you think if I swapped the direct lead coming out of the controller to a male ended one.Then the UART display with the female connector should work...
