NSW [Australia] considering plan to halve power and top speed of ebikes as rider dies in collision with garbage truck

We have the advantage of having extra wide streets and bike friendly approach with infrastructure:. - Any new roads have bike lane markings (bikers are "encourage" to ride with traffic) - bikes are allowed on sidewalks traveling in any direction - street lighting everywhere - a lot of...

NSW [Australia] considering plan to halve power and top speed of ebikes as rider dies in collision with garbage truck

I was being 100% serious. If slowing down ebikes would have saved that soul. Why wouldn't slowing down other public/private modes of motorized transportation should also yield the same results of saving lives?

NSW [Australia] considering plan to halve power and top speed of ebikes as rider dies in collision with garbage truck

Makes sense! They should also half the power and top speed of motorcycles, trains, planes, and vehicles because of one collision.

    Tire liner shock! Weird!

I needed to unfold for a few days the Tannus liners because they were hard to install immediately when folded up in the packaging like it was spring loaded. The hardest part I had with Mr. Tuffy was getting the liner centered when installing and keeping it from sliding over to one side...

    Tire liner shock! Weird!

I did the same with always using Mr. Tuffy+tire sealant since 2016 on my two 4" fat tire and the wife's two 2.3" step-thru. In the beginning, I did get the Mr. Tuffy pinch flat from being too long and learned to trim it down with minimum overlap also. I would still get the occasional extra long...

Riding Shoes; In Search of Something Better *Update!

I purchased Northwave MTB All Mountain Shoes Escape Evo Black/Green back in 2018 (Amazon, $90 back then). They last a long time for me because I only wear them when riding. They have stiff sole that doesn't flex to make pedaling easier compared to cross-trainer or jogging shoes I was using...

    Do you ride with someone?

I once snapped my chain on my mid-drive about 10 miles from home. I purchased a spare chain; but, I haven't prepped it yet and didn't have it in my rack bag. Lucky I was with my wife and rode her Radcity step thru ebike back home, left her ebike at home, put my hitch bike rack on our SUV, and...

Rider weight limitations with ICONIC EVO TR 1 750

I went with the Himiway ebikes with a few choices with 400lbs max limit. At my weight of 300lbs, I also factored in the added weight of Tannus tire liners, rack+bag, accessories, commuter backpack, suspension seatpost, water, tools, winter cloths, etc.. I purchased a full suspension Himiway...

    RAD Power Bikes Going Bust

I have two 2016 Radrovers, 2019 Radcity step thru, and 2023 Radcity step-thru. I wonder should I get spare parts from them? I'm on my 3rd controller for my 2023 Radcity (might be one of the reasons for going out of business).

    shock absorbing seat posts

I started out with Suntour NCX SP-12 on my hard tail Radrover back in 2017. It comes in 350mm or 400m post lengths for the 27.2mm size AND Hard red springs (+195lbs; but, not sure of max weight) or Soft blue springs (140-195lbs). Noticed a few Suntour NCX are shown with gray colored spring and...

The Ultimate Mid-Drive Chain Care Thread

I purchased two KMC e10 EPT Chains for my Himiway Cobra Pro with a 1000w/160Nm mid-drive (keep a spare in rack bag). Also giving the Silca wax system with Nano Tungsten Disulfide wax and one endurance chip a try. Tired of having to degrease the chain so much with a ton of black gritty muck...

    1,200 miles later (A7 Pro)

It had me a little worried at first because I purchased the Cobra Pro 2 years ago and the warranty ran out last month (Murphy's Law of something breaking the day after the warranty expires). It just caught me off guard a little bit because it has been working perfectly for the two years prior.

    1,200 miles later (A7 Pro)

I had a minor issue with a floppy right brake handle (all the way to the grip). The left brake handle felt fine and I didn't realize a problem until I was riding. I didn't see any leaks and assumed air in the line. Purchased a brake bleed kit on Amazon, $27, just incase if I need to bleed the...

How would you rate your seat for comfort?

Exactly! Most riders start with "out the box" (e)bike and you have options from there if notice any issues once you reach your normal riding conditioning/environment/frequency. There are other options to look at if you notice changing the saddle isn't enough over time. I would sometimes put...
