    32" Wheels? Interesting...

The problem I ran into with my first fat tire ebike +10 years ago was the lack of aftermarket replacements choices for tires, tubes, liners, and rims. Much better today compared to back then. Going 32" will mean limited aftermarket support for awhile and usually higher prices with longer ship...

    Mirror recommendation

The wife and I usually have helmet mount left side rear view mirrors. She had to have eye surgery for a torn retina months ago and her vision hasn't returned 100% in her left eye. I added a handle bar left mount bike mirror to help her out until her eyesight returns back to normal. Netxcover...

    Heavy Rider, need suggestions

I've started out with just a bike and ended up adding so much more down the road. Those little things can start to add up over time to get close to +/- 50% of the purchase price of the ebike. I would factor in accessories and mods down the road like: - rear and/or front rack - rack bag w/ or...

    Parent Mode

The real issue is parent are not being parents. I think I would rather have telematic data mode (real time date for speed, GPS location, Geo fencing, etc...). I had something similar for my son when he started driving call MotoSaftey that plugged into the car OBDII port. It tracked in real...

Adrian Raeside cartoon: Bike lanes everywhere!

Seems like the huge curbs would help with debris getting kicked into the bike lanes. Our city now adds "share the road" bike lanes with new streets or repaving of older primary side streets. Unfortunately, all the debris in the car lanes get kicked into the bike lanes (broken auto parts from...

Clicking Noise At My Bike Rear Wheel

I had the clicking noise from the rear of my Radrover fat tire ebike. It was from the spokes at various levels of tq. Some took a 1/4 turn and other took 3-4 turns to tq. Clicking was gone after that. Double check my second Radrover and the wife Radcity and they had loose spokes also.

    Heavy Rider, need suggestions

Any ebike shops, Facebook groups, or any ebike rental places within a several hours radius to test ride? It is a different experience between regular tire compared to fat tire, cadence compare to tq sensor, OR hub compared to mid-drive. Class II 20 mph max rear hub with throttle are fall off a...

    Heavy Rider, need suggestions

I really like my Himiway ebike. They have options from mid-drives and rear hubs in step thru, hard tail, and full suspension designs with many with at 300-440lbs max weight. I'm +300lbs (add another +/- 30lbs for rack bag, riding gear, water, tools, etc..). I added a wider Cloud-9 seat...

Raising Handlebars to Ease Hand Pressure

I had issues with "numb hands" with my Radrover and Himiway Cobra Pro. I added: -Adjustable 85 degree handlebar stem riser - SQLabs ergonomic 710 grips - Gel pad riding gloves (fingerless for summer, full fingers for cold temps) You have the option to install the adjustable stem riser...

    helmet search bike

I do a mix of trail and road. I like the Bell Sixer MIPS with an up/down adjustable sun visor (live in southwest). I use padded wind resistance motor cycle goggles to help with dust/dirt/bugs when riding (polarized daytime, clear at night). I switch to ski googles in winter to help keep face...

Horn, Bell or Voice, how to warn others of your presence and intentions

I added the Accmor Bike bell to all of our ebikes (Amazon, $6). I picked the red bell to dress up the ebike a bit. It rings with up/return push of the ringer. The bell sound for me seems to be the only thing that can alert adults, kids, and pets. The bell sound also seems to cut through...

Help deciding when to switch to an ebike?

Exactly! Bum left knee now from B-ball and football after decades of playing after H.S. I start to get increasing lower leg and knee stiffness/mild pain when I skip riding my ebikes for weeks. Walking and hiking irritates my plantar fasciitis and I have mild lower joint pain with stiffness a...

Help deciding when to switch to an ebike?

Is there a ebike rental in town you can try a mid-drives and hub drives? It will give you a general feel of how the power is delivered, handling, braking, and comfort. The wife test rode Radcity rear hub step-thru at a rental shop when it came out back in 2018 and we purchased online...

Lady cyclist killed in Davis involving juvenile on ebike...on the bike path.

I've noticed my city has started posting 20 mph speed limit signs on the shared bike, run, and walk paths. It was an unwritten rule for years of keeping your speed at/under 20 mph and the reason for Class I&II ebikes being A-OK on the same paths (Class III not allowed; but, keep your speed...

    Chain education for me?

I just have to whip out the spare chain in rack bag and add a quick link. I would have the added step of needing a chain tool and keeping some spare replacement pins as back-up (Murphey's Law). The chain on bike that broke is usually ready for cleaning anyways.
