How loud is the motor?

I changed my rear wheel (incl. motor) and it did not affect the top speed setting.

Could the torque sensor be the problem. In cold temperatures (-10 C and below) my bike kept assisting me even when I did not pedal. According to Specialized it is related to the torque sensor materials which don't behave the same way in cold. Maybe your sensor is somehow broke.

A slight correction: in freezing temps it is not the motor that malfunctions but the elastomer stops of the torque sensor. At -10C (or maybe even higher) or below the bike will assist you even when not pedaling. My bike was stole recently, but before that I kept it in warm temp storage mostly...

I rode a Turbo S all through the year (I am at 60 deg north). When the temps got down to -10C or lower the motor started to malfunction. I mean, the assist would be there even when not wanted. I had Schwalbe Marathon winters (240 studs) and they are ok especially if you want to have low rolling...

I asked my insurance company if they would want to offer an additional coverage (on top of my home insurance, which tops at 2500€) for a bike of, say, 5000€. They declined on the basis of it being too risky. So, I guess I am not getting another e-bike.

Stromer ST2 has this kind of motor jamming theft mode which can be activated in case of theft. You can also locate the bike with its GPS using a Stromer app. However, I think there is some kind of subscription fee if you want to take advantage of the Omni cloud services like getting the location...

I agree. It not a common bike to see around here and it can bee seen miles away. I just sent theft declaration to the police including the bike's serial number, colour and frame size. I also attached a couple of pictures to it. I could buy the Turbo again, I liked it with the exception of ride...

Just checked the fine print of my home insurance terms. For bicycles the coverage ceiling is 2500€ (-200€ excess and -7% age reduction for 2 yrs). Then there is another condition which the company can possibly use to avoid payment: "motorised vehicles are not covered".

The bike was stolen. It was locked with Kryptonite U-lock and inside a locked condo storage room. Surprised really it took this long. I don't think I will be getting another one either.

On my normal bike, I've had back wheel spokes go loose and pop all the time, after which I needed to have the wheel trued. On the Turbo, after 5000 km not one loose spoke.

The problem is that the dealers probably get only very basic troubleshooting training with not much to go to train customers. However, whatever knowledge they do receive they should pass on to the customers. See for example the attached file. This is something I got from the dealer but it is not...

Sounds weird. I would take the bike back t the seller and have him fix the problem.
