Mainly that it was rare and difficult to actually reach a class 3 speed, even with intense cycling. Regardless, went with the marin. 40 pounds, 85 nm and class 3 was too good to pass up.

If you wanted to ride around with a frame mounted child seat and a 30 pound kid in the back, would you feel comfortable/confident on either of these bikes?

I have similar criteria to you and have a few if the mentioned bikes in my final four. Have you considered the Bulls Iconic Evo 1 speed? Front suspension, road based tires, class 3. It’s not a belt drive, but appears to run a solid groupset.
