Do you recognize this part? Vado SL 5.0 + range extender

Thanks Stefan. If anyone would recognize the part, it would be you. I checked with the body shop that recently worked on our car and they didn’t recognize it either. It remains a mystery. :)

Do you recognize this part? Vado SL 5.0 + range extender

Hi all, I found this small rubber gasket on the floor of my garage, and I can't figure out what it belongs to. It almost fits into the charging port on the bike, but it's tight. The diameter of the hole in the gasket closely matches the RE plug. I don't recall this gasket being on the RE...

Chain came off: Vado SL 4

Check out this thread--it may help: https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/my-chain-is-jumping-off-the-chain-ring-on-my-creo.45812/page-4 See the posts about the clutch.

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

    I don't even know if I have a quick link! :)

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

Yep, REALLY hard to get the chain out when it's wedged between the ring and frame, particularly when you're stuck at the side of the road and unable to easily move the pedal forward. In addition to a rag, I take a pair of thin gloves like doctors wear. I'm going to ride with at lever in the up...

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

Thank you, Stefan. I am so grateful for all of the knowledge you (and others) share here. I put my bike onto my Thule hanging rack so I could see what the clutch does. As I mentioned, my clutch has been in the down position (probably since I bought it). After moving the lever up, I could...

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

I found a YouTube video about the clutch: It turns out my clutch is in the down position. Perhaps I should put it into the up position, per the video. I'll try it up and see if I notice a difference.

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

My SL 5.0 has a Shimano Deore XT, as Stefan said. I didn't know it had a clutch, and I don't know if it engaged or not. I'll look at the manual and see if I can figure it out.

My chain is jumping off the chain ring on my Creo

I have a Vado SL 5.0 purchased in 2021, and I have made no modifications to it. My chain has dropped inside a few times. leading to some greasy hands (before I started carrying a rag). It seems that this happens when changing gears, going from the largest ring toward the smaller ones. It also...

    New Spec App?

@Stefan Mikes ….. thanks. I already have the latest firmware and app updates.

    New Spec App?

I got my Vado SL 5.0 in September, 2021. It has a TCU, not MasterMind. Maybe my version of the bike doesn't support Charge Limit, although the setting shows in the app. Odd that it doesn't work.

    New Spec App?

@leifg.... it's good to know that Charge Limit can work correctly. I didn't mention that my bike is a Vado SL 5.0, but this issue might not be associated with a particular model. Other than this, the new app is working well for me. Specifically, the Pause function when recording a ride works...

    New Spec App?

In the new app, I have Charge Limit 80% enabled, but the bike is still charging to 100%. I’ve been through several charging cycles and it always charges to 100%. (The old MC and Ride apps were uninstalled when the new app was installed.) Anyone else having the same or different results?

Vado SL 5.0 - power setting to compensate for bike weight

Imagine a Vado SL with a front derailer and a very low gear--like a road bike. And add to that a larger rear chainring to climbing hills. While going uphill might be slow, it would require less motor power. Is there some inherent reason the Vado SL couldn't have two gears in the front (like a...

Vado SL 5.0 - power setting to compensate for bike weight

@Jeremy McCreary .... thanks again. All of your numbers still intimidate me (haha), but they help me confirm a few things: 1) I will continue to admire my friend's strength and determination in riding up a ~3,900' mountain on a non-electric bike at the age of 77. 2) I will need varying levels...
