I have a 2016 (ish) Giant Explore E+2 that uses a battery that I can't seem to locate. I bought the bike without a battery.
I since bought a 2018 Giant EnergyPak 500Wh Battery.
Does anyone know if it is at all possible to interchange these using the existing pins?
The old one only has 3...
Update. Took about 30 minutes to install the TCD-w display/computer. The Vado fired right up and it is back on the road. so now I have an ebike with a new 704watt battery and TCD-w display/computer. Oh, and a new shop vac to clean up the garage floor
My display is slightly different. There is not an internal battery. I can power up the unit with a USB cable, but still get the blinking power level icon. I tried the reset button and no luck.
When the battery got fried I wonder if it took out this display...
Update.
Turns out I was able to get a new battery under warranty.
However, now my ebike does not turn on. All I get is a blinking bar on the computer.
This is a 2017 VADO with the older bick computer.
I think more damage was done than to just the battery.
This seems to be pretty common way to break your battery. That is by shorting out the terminals on the battery
In my case charger magnetic plug picked up a staple off the garage floor and when I plugged in the charge the staple crossed the pins on the batttery.
Others have accidentally placed...
Still holding out to find a replacement battery, even a dead one where I can replace the cells.... Also trying to figure out if the newer generation of battery 6 terminals) could be used but I suspect it is too "smart". I have the 6 terminal connector that I could swap out on the ebike. In the...
