Yes, it seems so according to this post I found - https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/changing-the-crosstour-gear-hub.53796/
I'll give that a shot.
Hi,
I've had my Crosstour for some time now and from the beginning it was clear the power was too much for the 3 speed hub. Over the years, I think fist gear has been damaged and it won't stay in gear. Of course, 2nd speed starts from a stop don't work well either.
Has anyone found a...
Sorry, I'm experiencing the same issue (no dongle connected error) and I'm not sure how to update the driver. Pushkar has mentioned this on past threads and I see it here as well but no dice. I've re-run the install and nothing. I've found the device in device manager and updating the driver...
Thanks, much appreciated. I do a lot of car photography (@911maniac on IG) but taking bike photos is new to me :)
I agree with the previous comment on cable clutter but I don’t notice it as much in person as in the photos. I think the look of the bike is very utilitarian..:more beast than...
Back from vacation and I finally had the chance to take the bike for a quick spin. It is a beast and while I still need to reprogram it to dial it down, I have been able to get the hang of controlling the power better. I’m expecting this to be a low maintenance, low trouble commuter once I’m...
I tried to connect the programming cable after registering as well and got the same no dongle connected message. I was in a rush to head out of town so I just left the troubleshooting for another day. I wasn’t able to read or write any changes so I just plugged the cable back in to the...
Pushkar mentioned he had two orders going for Jeff Jones and had to be super careful to ensure we got the right bikes :) My Dad was born in Upstate NY :)
What issues are you having? The only thing I’m finding so far is that the motor seems to overpower the hub easier than I expected. I didn’t...
The only challenge I’ve had so far is that the bike has so much power, I forget to use the 3 gears I have. I need to ensure I shift to the first gear when I’m getting started, at least on any incline. The bike has so much power that starting on a hill in the wrong gear could destroy the hub quickly.
I’ve never had a throttle on an ebike before so I’m not expecting to use it much, especially since my main use case is exercise. It doesn’t get in the way and I can imagine it being useful on occasion so I’m glad I left it on.
I never thought that replacing my aging ebike would be a two year journey but then again, I didn’t expect a pandemic and complete breakdown of global supply chains. I’m glad I found Watt Wagons, got to know Pushkar and I’m thrilled to have taken delivery of my Crosstour. Originally I placed an...
I had previously ordered a Helios but cancelled when the wait became too long. In the end, I didn’t buy anything because I’ve been working from home for so long! I’m glad I waited because the Atom seems perfect for my use and I just placed an order. I use it for a 20 mile roundtrip work commute...
Unless I'm wrong, the default config for the front fork is the Suntour Auron which should have enough travel for street riding. Are most of you paying $850 for the upgraded Fox shocks and if so, why?
My FLX order was going to be significantly delayed as they work through some frame issues they experienced on the first bikes. Something about a nut that can loosen up and lock up the hub. I expect some quality control issues with a first gen bike but between that, shipping the Rohloff hubs...
