Everyday is Bike to Work Day?

I went to school with a guy whose brother is a little older and biked to work a lot. https://www.pinejournal.com/news/carlton-county-judge-retires-after-26-years Carlton County judge retires after 26 years Sixth Judicial District Judge Robert Macaulay retired on Tuesday, Aug. 31. Sixth...

Everyday is Bike to Work Day?

I retired over a year ago, so it is just a hobby for me, too. I got into amateur radio as an adult. Growing up where I did on a farm in rural Minnesota, I would have had to travel to Saint Paul to take a test at the FCC office. I did have some CB radios, including one that was single-sideband...

How an Electric Motorbike Made LA Feel Smaller, Easier and More Fun

The article does talk about legality. I am not familiar with California laws, so I don't know if the author got everything correct. https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/las-shortest-trips-are-its-most-annoying-onyx-rcr-80v

Rambo Krusader 2.0 Battery Won't Release?

I have a Rambo Krusader 2.0. Yesterday, after my ride, I tried to remove the battery, but the latch wouldn't release the battery. Has anybody else ran into this issue? I called Rambo Customer Support and they suggested that it might be the latch on the battery. I was able to remove that battery...

    User Selectable E-Bike Class.

While I can't answer that, I do know that when I am riding my Class 3, if I get to 28 MPH, I no longer get pedal assist. Why couldn't the throttle couldn't be disabled once it is switched to Class 1 or Class 3?

    User Selectable E-Bike Class.

This is what we have in Minnesota. As I interpret it, a multiple mode electric-assisted bicycle is permitted in Minnesota. Minnesota Statutes §169.011 Subd. 27 Subd. 27.Electric-assisted bicycle. (a) "Electric-assisted bicycle" means a bicycle with two or three wheels that: (1) has a...

Do cell phone holders damage phones?

Has anybody here used their old phone that is no longer their day-to-day phone for this? If you enable the hotspot on your primary phone and keep it somewhere safe on your person and then connect the old phone via wifi, that could be a good way to go for some people. The issue I have with a lot...

Lady cyclist killed in Davis involving juvenile on ebike...on the bike path.

It is a bit higher than that in Minnesota, of course. Granted, the article is 12 years old, so the numbers of unlicensed drivers has gone up. https://www.startribune.com/one-in-eight-minnesotans-on-the-road-don-t-have-valid-licenses/243737901 One in eight Minnesotans on the road don't have...

    User Selectable E-Bike Class.

The federal Safe SPEEDS Act (H.R. 7839) has not passed as of early May 2026.

    User Selectable E-Bike Class.

I was in a local bike shop this morning and saw one that allows the user to select between Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3. I went to Google and it turns out a number of bikes now allow user-selectable classes.
