Amtrak Surfliner rolling through south Carlsbad 2 weeks ago. No recent stoppages on the LA to San Diego line, but some major stoppages looming.

Knocked around Encinitas with my wife K today — just following our noses on our ebikes on a gorgeous spring day. Doesn't get much better than that.
Looking down on Swami's Beach from a favorite spot — the J Street overlook.
Unpaved part of the Encinitas rail trail awash in purple and white...
As reported earlier, every open space here is yellow with crown daisy and wild mustard this time of year.
Very yellow.
Yet along this stretch of rail trail in Encinitas today, my bike was the only yellow in sight. Somehow, purple and white sea lavender had the place all to itself. Not a...
If you meant the Xafari, the specs put the weight at 92.5 lb bare. That's very heavy even by ebike standards. A 750W, 80Nm hub-drive that heavy won't be very responsive, and it won't be much of a climber.
Best to test ride this one and something closer to 60 lb before you buy. Be sure to test...
Hate riding on cobble. Even find the sections of round-edged pavers used to slow traffic in our neighborhood highly annoying. But love that word "kinderkopjes"!
You've seen that on EBR?? After almost 3 active years here, I'd say that the vast majority of members always ride with assist. Why? Because their ebikes are a pain to ride in OFF — even on the flats — and for their purposes, that's OK. (Not knocking that, just a fact.)
We definitely have a...
The last 2 editions of Bicycling Science have extensive sections on the evils of vibration in cycling, and they totally back up your statement. Vibration here includes big oscillations like seat bounce. The losses can be huge. Worse yet, vibration's hard on both bike and rider and in severe...
A fellow constant-cadence rider here. Gear and assist choices are almost always about staying close to preferred cadence (currently ~88 rpm). Happily, I have the gearing for it, and my motor prefers that, too
The latter, but I can pedal smoothly at up to 100 rpm without bouncing when I don't have an overly bouncy rear tire amplifying the seat inputs. The "resonance" might well go away at higher pressures than I've tried (say, 60+ psi), but those are out on compliance and gravel traction grounds...
Thanks, I'll check it out!
Sage Creek High School sits at the bottom of the MUP. The solar system signage was added through an Eagle Scout project by one of the students, an astronomy buff. The kid raised the money and had a big hand in the design. Cool indeed.
