Thanks for reply we have played with the settings on the flow app mainly to improve Tour+ as she is hoping to spend most of the time in that apart from challenging climbs. It improved tour+ slightly,emtb and turbo are absolutely fine and will climb up a house wall.

We have used trains a couple of times, my Partners 25kg Kalkhoff loaded was a bit of a pain in the arse, very little space for it and no way to stand it on its end, the 17kg Vado Sl was a much easier option. Any bike on a train in the UK ( Scotrail not included in this) is a case of being lucky...

Sorted... after some gentle 50km rides no creaking so I went out on the hilliest steepest local ride that I know and did some serious out of the saddle in normal mode honking and still no creaking.. 😁

It was a process of elimination, all the above were stripped cleaned and relubed/greased, but these creaks are definitely from BB/ motor mounts area, I have a high end Carbon Roadie that is an absolute nightmare for creaks, so much so it just hangs on the wall. So 15 miles of steep short climbs...

As for the headset I dropped the forks out and cleaned up all the contact surfaces, then used copper slip and refitted everything. Once again it's been fine since.

I had issues with the motor/frame creaking quite early on, when I put pressure down on the cranks, I took it in and they regreased the mounting bolts, it's been fine since with nearly 4k miles on it. I'd contact Giant and let them have a look.

Where about did you get the 48t FSA chainring from. I feel some fettling coming on ?

I did think about a bigger chainring, so I get a better spread of wear from the rear cassette instead of just running 7,8,9 and ten.

When you took it apart, was it possible to attach the guard ring on the inside. Or does the chain line make the chain rub. Not sure a front derailleur would sort it, but some sort of guide is needed, I have a chain devise on my DH bike to stop this, but that is a completely different set up.

Yep I've had mine jump off quite a few times, it's a right pain in the ass to get the chain back out. It jams behind the crosshead screw holding the bashplate on. I thought about putting a larger headed screw in to stop the chain getting past, but when I started to unscrew the screw it didn't...
