Open letter to Yamaha re: 2nd battery promo (please sign)

The local display on my 2nd battery did not react to short to few seconds long button presses out of the box, but after installing it in the bike and connecting the charger three bars of charge showed up on the bike's display (after turning it on, obviously). It charged to 100% (ten bars) in a...

Open letter to Yamaha re: 2nd battery promo (please sign)

Hi Southern e-biking, no, I didn't call them (or the dealer, or anybody else) at all. I could have actually walked or biked over there, Yamaha US HQ is just down the street from me....

Yamaha Registration for free battery and 5y Warranty?

For me it took exactly five months (to the day) to receive the 2nd battery (registered 10/11/2024, battery received 3/11/2025). Got a UPS heads-up the day before, no communications from Yamaha.

Two Yamaha branded ebike modification questions

Thanks for the update! Does the pedal power display and logging (to a connected phone app) work? That would be my main interest in getting the Display C.

Open letter to Yamaha re: 2nd battery promo (please sign)

Update: I just got an email from UPS announcing a package on the way from Yamaha headquarters on Katella Ave in Cypress, CA. Bike was ordered on 10/1/2024 and registered on 10/11/2024. So pretty much exactly six five months since registration. Update 2: battery and bolt-on adapter/lock piece...

Advise needed on first time purchaser

I'm very happy with my Wabash RT. The lowest gear is almost 1:1 (44T to 42T), so should be good for climbing. If your back hurts already, maybe you shouldn't jump, and don't need suspension if you stick to trails and roads?

Changing display from type A to type C

On my Wabash RT the display connector is accessible by removing the feedthrough cover on the top right side of the downtube, and pulling the cable out. Can one simply swap the Display C against the Display A? Display C can display pedal power via BLE and a connected phone, according to...

Range differences between types (road vs. MTB vs. City)

And resurrecting again (because I think it's a good thread title that comes up in searches), to add that the energy spent on fighting air resistance for a given distance increases with the square of the speed (power needed goes with the cube of speed, distance obviously linear). So reducing the...

Bicycle Q Factor Definition - Ebike Mid-Drive Motor Q Factor List

I guess that's the same Q factor, if you want the same distance to the midline on the left and right; the right side distance to the end of the axle is 50+37.5= 87.5mm, so if you make your crank outside edge flush with the end of the axle, and aim for the same distance on the left side, you end...

Bicycle Q Factor Definition - Ebike Mid-Drive Motor Q Factor List

My 2024 Wabash RT with the PW-ST motor arrived (only 10 days after ordering): the Q factor is 175mm. Chainline 54mm.

Bicycle Q Factor Definition - Ebike Mid-Drive Motor Q Factor List

Any info on Q factor of the Yamaha Wabash RT? Yamaha says the 2025 model (with the PW-S2 motor replacing the PW-ST motor in the 2022 model) has a smaller Q factor, but they don't tell you what it is!
