although i don't have a seat, i can mount it under the footplate. the wires wouldn't be pointed down; otoh, it would be protected from rain. the worry then would be puddle splashes from below but if i double up on the silicone waterproofing, maybe that'd be enough.
so on my scooter project ... does the controller need to be protected from the elements and if so, how? this is a replacement controller and doesn't fit inside the battery box like the old one did. think i'll have to afix it under the footplate or the front of the battery.

agreed. and they now only recommend the 151wh one for flying. that said, they don't have a certification document posted for it that i can find. but i am going to assume it exists. i still that that they're overpriced now that i've compared them the boschs below. and the ts batteries arent...
forget china. let's just talk about the ts batteries. so the bosch powerpack 400 is 675, approx. now 675 / 400 is 1.68. let's take that as the cost per wh. here's what i get for the two offical scoot batteries: 151 x 1.68 = $238 and 274 x 1.68 = $460. assuming that what i'm doing makes...
it's for the UN certification, as per this from the TS website: . as to 130 battery being close to a 600 one, maybe, maybe not, but that's why i'm asking.
alaskan: thank you for that info. it's pretty much what i've been trying to find out -- how much at this time should batteries like the...
i ride an electric mobility scooter called a travelscoot and have been having a rather heated debate with a facebook group about how much the maker charges for its batteries. i think they're way overpriced and i bought one instead from china but talking about china batteries got my thread...
well, i got the tester and adapted a cable to fit and thought it best to try it out on the bike that works first, so i hooked things up and ... musta done (dumb) something wrong, because two seconds later, that motor went and died. now i've got 2 dead motors instead of just one. i'm so mad i...
yup, already ordered one. now i have to source a cable to convert the waterproof plug to stuff the tester can use. only one i can find on amazon so far isn't on prime and i don't trust things i can't return, esp since this one has no reviews. thanks, tho, for the suggestion.
i posted this first on the Bafang subforum but i think it'll get more traction (haha) here. if so, i'll go delete the other thread. meanwhile ....
So, I'm trying to figure out why the motor doesn't run. sometimes it'll give a little jerk forward but then nada. i don't think it's the...
any inexpensive handlebar options out there? the sunlite that people seem to love isn't available anymore at amazon. the klunker is too much $ for me. anything else?
