I'm pretty certain that it isn't UL certified but neither are my OEM Yamaha batteries (newer versions, not compatible with my bike, are however).

@Chargeride Has your aftermarket Yamaha battery worked well for you, or not and is it marked as YMH-36a? I'm considering buying a 13ah version from an ebay seller and would appreciate your input regarding what you had purchased. Any others who have experience with aftermarket Yamaha compatible...

I think screwing this tool hook into tent poles or maybe into the top of an old treking pole might work also. I have several old treking poles and might give that a try. Comes in pack of two, if I don't like it I'll use it to hang shovel and rake, I want them for that anyway.

If you want a conversion that anyone who can change a wheel could perform in a few minutes a Keyde rear hub motor laced into a wheel might be what you're looking for. Simply replace your wheel, there is only one wire to the battery. Control is by cell phone app or wireless display and control...

Everyone has their preferences. I'm happy with 15-18mph on flats and going up steep grades I'm at 5 to10mph, or less, pedaling furiously in my lowest gears - 30t chainring and 11-40t cassette with 700c wheels (bike with the Keyde has 24t/38t double chainring and 11-36t cassette and 26" tires)...

Throwback to 2019, I've had my BH/Yamaha gravel bike now for 7 years since an impulse buy on ebay when BH withdrew from market and dumped discounted bikes through bicycle blue book. Time flies, get out and ride while you can.

What drivetrain did your gekko come with? I saw one with a triple chainring and 11 cog cassette. If keeping that or similar configuration was a priority then the Keyde S110 might have been a better fit for you as you could've kept your original gearing but the Keyde comes with its own...
