It's really disappointing that Bafang is going in this direction. Adding a c-note to a new project really sucks - but I'm glad to hear that Luna is trying to help us sort this out.
Ultimately at this point in the game Bafang (and the aftermarket controller developers) need to just give us more...
Not sure what the OP's riding style is but I use my Ultra for suburban car replacement and need the motor to give consistent power flow even when ghost pedaling. Not sure if that's ideal for emtb but for the fellow commuters out there you might want to give these settings a shot...
Glad to hear it, yeah I agree the Ultra is definitely an upgrade. My G510 is 2018 stock controller uart.
The Biktrix / AK's you reprogrammed that still required pressure for pas - were they uart? I made a video last year explaining my settings if you want to give them a try... I didn't know...
Late to the party here but just skimming through and man that @pushkar sure is patient. Thanks to all of you for going through this stuff and sharing.
I'm really disappointed about the direction Bafang is going with the canbus stuff but thank goodness WW and innotrace had the foresight to step...
Has anyone tried running a 4 watt light through the Bafang light cable? I'm considering the Lezyne e-bike mini stvzo E65. It says "E-bike compatible 6 – 12v input, 4w". https://amzn.to/3tWiK5y
Closest I can find to 3w so far. That would pull about 667mA, right? ... is 167mA enough to cause...
Sounds like an awesome project, any updates? I'm curious about your purpose (commuting, long trip, etc.) and how many Ah you'll be getting?
I'd probably go with option 3 (the 2x2 setup) for my car replacement / commuter. Option 1 probably wouldn't be user friendly enough for car replacement...
So far v2 has almost a hundred responses. The average score is 30 wh/mi. Still seems a bit high but I'll have to look through the responses and see if some of the question weights need to be reduced.
I published a calc walk-through / 500w range test vid:
... my first time at the Austin...
I just updated the original page with a v2 version of the form. Got some more good feedback on Reddit and about 50 quiz responses. The average Wh/mi score was 37 which seemed way too high since most responders chose 500w or 250w. I think the quiz was oversimplified so I made the following...
Thanks for the quick feedback. I'll work on that, yeah unfortunately google forms treats it like a quiz and shows the "total points" score as the score over the total... I can't change that, but will try to explain it better somehow. Yes the first number of the score (ex: 41/200), 41 is your...
I built a few simple eBike range calculators last night in an attempt to include the 'impossible to account for' range factors, and spit out a more realistic battery capacity need and range expectation.
Please give it a try and let me know if it makes sense and/or how we can improve it...
If you've been commuting to work or school for over a year then you are already well aware of the profound affect that the daylight saving time changes have on us.
In the first week of March we roll the clocks forward on a Sunday night and lose one hour. For most people who don't prepare for...
Yeah thanks for doing that I think comparing these should help us figure this out.
You'll notice that the only 6 rows I changed from stock are:
Start (kg) | Full (kg) | Return (kg)
MinCur (%) | MaxCur (%) | KeepCur (%)
I walk through the relationships for these in the video I posted above. My...
I see. Hopefully bench-marking the 250w rule of thumb against the 250w range test above gives a rough idea on that question.
Given the same voltage, gearing and pedal effort on a similar bike at the same speed the Ultra should be just as efficient Wh/mi as any other mid drive. I'd bet the...
