Cool, thanks. I'm wondering if the spring was for an adapter the previous owner used, actually. She said she had an ebike and said she needed an adapter to connect the trailer, but couldn't find it.
Okay, so.... it's been a while. Bike is working great (I still need to post an experience & review thread) but the dog situation still unresolved. I did try a backpack, but for one thing he kind of freaks out when hoisting him up and letting him down. Also, given that he's around 18lbs, I...
It's been a process.... mostly due to issues on Ride1Up's end (missing part etc.). Then a final one stemming from my own dunderheadedness... But it should finally be done today. I'm going to do a review thread about the Turris at some point.
Haha, yeah mine's half chihuahua, too.
I've had 3 people recommend backpacks now, so I'm going to order one and try it out. The more I think about it, it seems like much less hassle than a trailer, especially for a 17lb dog.
I was thinking it might also be possible to get an extension to attach it to the seat post, which is what Ride1Up suggested. They said better weight distribution would put less strain on the motor.
Now a few people have recommended dog backpacks, so I'm going try to test one out with my dog. Seems easier and more portable for walking around after parking.
Here's the bike axle, and my first post has a screengrab of the instruction manual for the trailer I'm looking at:
I was told in a FB group that I'll need to either get an hitch adapter (top) or use a pipe hanger bracket (bottom):
Haha, yeah, the "hangdog" expression is real. I wonder how stable those one-wheeled trailers are.
Given that I see e-bikes of all brands with trailers pulling kids and bigger dogs, I'm tending to be a little skeptical about Ride1Up's advice. I mean, they basically all have similar design and...
I recently bought a Turris (so recently that I'm still assembling). I'm looking for experience/advice about carrying a dog. I was thinking about this trailer from Lectric.
But.... Ride1Up says that they don't recommend axle-mounted trailers because they put excess weight on the left side...
This afternoon I had the opportunity to ride a Veloctric Discover 2 750w with a torque sensor, immediately followed by Veloctric Discover 1 with a cadence sensor and 500w. My verdict is that although they're different, I didn't immeasurably prefer the D2. I did have to change the PAS more on the...
Okay, I'll try to find a torque sensor bike to try out. The couple of times I rode a friend's RadBike with cadence I didn't have any issue, though since it was the first time I'd ever ridden an e-bike I was just enjoying the novelty of it and didn't really pay attention.
I'm not sure about that because the Turris was only recently upgraded. They seem to be pushing it pretty hard. I'm glad for the fenders, lights, and hybrid-type tires,a actually.
I will have a second look at the LMT'D before ordering... though I'm not sure what you mean by "a geeky one piece...
Thanks! It's a great city to explore and this seems the idea way to do it.
Yeah, I was thinking two locks, actually - one for front and one for back. Maybe even a third for when I have the dog trailer. And definitely a helmet, too 👍 I've been fortunate enough that I've never had an accident on...
