4 Years later.. Bike still works!
BATTERIES: (and yes I have two) have both put on more than 7,000km's each. I recently encountered a major drop in power. A fully charged battery will still last ~40km in one go (running on levels 4-5 out of 9) but it does turn off if pulling over ~ 350 Watts...
@Stoker283
I would look at a different tire. Vee's have been pretty good. Also there are some heavier tubes floating around on Amazon.. Mr. Tuffy liners 3x's would be another alternate. Flat's are a bummer. Too hi pressure can be a problem and too low as well. Just depends on the terrain and...
It's been about 2.5 months since my last ride end of October and charge. It was 38 miles on flat terrain on a beautiful Fall day. There was some actual exercise going on and I even saw another Mariner during my travels. :) My crotch needed about a week or more after that one. Had the bike out...
I have never seen it not on sale price :rolleyes: The question is how much will you use it over winter vs. the battery degradation that occurs naturally over storage winter/un-use. Also who knows what brilliant improvements George will come out with for next year!!
Be conservative in your time...
@draf I have used the Mariner as a commuter for just over a year now. It did ride very well at higher speeds (going downhill 65km/hr) without any steering wheel wobble until a few crashes changed that. Not really the bikes fault though. I believe it may have some whip-it but not bad. That has...
How fast? Comfortable cruising speed? Likely to get some personal opinion responses. Here's mine. :p
The battery will give you everything it's got until it's pretty much done. The top of the battery does tend to give you a bit more punch fresh off a charge. But the steady drain till almost dead...
Don't get me wrong. I can still beat the cars or at least match them through an intersection, it's the full pull right to cut off is a little less. It does keep me going at top speed much better now.
The Mariner is still working through the wind and the rain.. I will be reaching 5,600km's tomorrow. Just hit my 90th commute since starting to eBike back in August of 2016. It's getting colder now so each time I make it out, I feel really happy I did. It seems to come down to perseverance.. Keep...
I have had my battery topple a few times now (same with my bows bike) and have not had the misfortune that you have had. I am sorry.. It must be like laptops and screen for phones.. Some have luck with mishaps and others don't. I am sure George will be in touch. Have patience. It does seem...
Just an update.. I had my bike into visit George @Voltbike to change out the controller to see if this would address the issue of my lights (cutting out/not working). For a short bit my lights worked but then they turned off again. Bummer!:oops: There must be a loose wire somewhere. I will have...
@attyjenkins Bummer about your plug end! Though I am not a fan of the twist throttle, I have also not spent much time on one. Curious how you will like it. I do know that your brake levers are a step up from mine and of course the bell works better too :D.. A little easier to deploy so enjoy!
I...
