I've been experiencing an issue with my Cannondale Synapse Neo where the right side pedal crank arm keeps coming loose. It's been to my local bike shot (Cannondale certified) and they tighten it. It comes loose again, especially on hillier rides where I'm putting down more power on the pedals...
Hi McDenny - I ride the Synapse neo and have a couple of different rack setups for bike packing or just longer rides (100+ km). My recent addition is one I love but it's expensive when compared to everything else. The Tailfin system is amazing. It's a quick release system which is fantastic...
Just added a rack and pannier setup to the bike for touring. Really impressed with how the Ortlieb panniers and Bontrager rack fit the Synapse Neo. Can't wait to try it out!
FOLLOW UP: Aug 22 2021 - tried out the new touring setup today on a nice 100 km ride. The new rack and pannier system...
@NH-Senior-Gal - I typically ride with the 650b / 47 mm wheelset and ride mainly farm roads / gravel roads / rail trails. A caveat is that the WTB Byway tires, while 47 mm, also are slick down the middle with tread pattern on the sides. This makes them ideal for the type of riding I do and...
I'd love to see more control on the user end in terms of calibrating and fine-tuning. For road ebikes I'd like to have them move the ebike level controls to the hoods for faster and easier access.
Congrats! I hope you get a ton of enjoyment out of it. The dish in the wheel is normal (and safe!) for the Cannondale bikes so no worries there. Mine came with the wrong size spokes on the rear wheel and that was the cause of the wobble. My local bike shop submitted a warranty claim and the...
@angryrice_esq great summary and think it's amazing that you're keen to get out riding a ton. FYI my bike shop determined that the original rear wheel had the wrong size spokes (after thinking that tightening would solve things) and replaced the entire wheel under warranty. They gave me a...
@Alaskan we did finally end up working with Cannondale Canada to get the bike in the shop and adjust the wheel circumference settings, as they confirmed that the factory settings were set incorrectly. Having said that, I haven't yet had the opportunity to focus on testing the accuracy. It's on...
@Hops I'm glad you found this post helpful and I'll continue to follow up with my experience with the bike.
In terms of touring, I don't think I have the experience necessary to give you any really solid feedback as I my rides are typically single day loops and out and backs. That said, I can...
angryrice a good bike shop should be able to provide you with a loaner wheel for your ride. Just be sure that they dish the rear wheel for the Cannondale setup (easy for them to do). Hope you get out and have a great ride! Oh... and don't forget to transfer your spoke magnet over to the fixed...
Are you looking at a light(s) to make you more visible to others on the road (i.e. strobe) or to better see in the dark or both? I have the Synapse Neo 2020 and use USB rechargeable lights (good for 17 hrs runtime on strobe - SeeSense Icons both front and rear) and also a 750 lumen light...
Are you able to fly with the batteries? Thought this wasn't allowed? Did a quick search and found this article...

I highly recommend the 'Take a Look' mirror for your glasses / sunglasses. I don't ride on the roads without one and they're really easy to use and very well made.
