Sorry for the all caps. Since I turned 80 have gotten lazy plus my vision has diminished somewhat. Lots of excuses. Did not realize all caps was hard to read. Point taken. In addition, I have never gone after anyone on this forum or others. I do not like bullies and also do not like being...
JEREMY, THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK. HE MAY BE KNOWLEDGEABLE, HOWEVER, ATTACKING OTHERS FOR STUPID REASONS LIKE BEING A KNOW IT ALL HAS NO PLACE IN THIS FORUM. HOPEFULLY HE WILL NOT RETALIATE. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF WILD TRAIL BIKES. I AM SURE NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD ARE AWARE OF EVERY BIKE MANUFACTURER, OTHER THAN MAYBE YOU. HOW WOULD I KNOW THAT SOME COMPANY IN MARIN COUNTY (HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THAT IS) MANUFACTURES A SPECIFIC BIKE BRAND? MY EXPERTISE IS SIMPLY THAT I...
I HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS BRANDS OF TIRES AND NEVER FOUND ANY THAT WERE RESISTANT TO FLATTING - UNTIL SCHWALBE. 24,000 KM'S WITH ONLY ONE FLAT ON MY JW 365 (HUGE SCREW IN THE SIDEWALL) SPEAKS VOLUMES TO ME. ASK 100 PEOPLE ON TIRE CHOICE AND MOSTLY LIKELY YOU WILL GET 100 OPINIONS. NEVER HEARD OF...
TAKE A LOOK AT THE SCHWALBE MARATHON E PLUS. I HAVE ACCUMULATED OVER 7,000 MILES WITH NO FLATS. I USE THE PREMIUM SCHWALBE TUBES AND RARELY HAVE TO ADD AIR.
I called Schwalbe.....they said the normal JW's are not as grippy as the 365's but should be fine in the wet. The 365 is more grippy because it needs to remain more flexible in lower temps.
I had the same problem with the rear wheel on my Allant + 8s. In fact, every Trek bike I have owned (around 10) has had issues with cracked wheels or excessive spokes that break.
Had the same issue with Trek not having replacement wheels. They told me 9 months I had to wait for a replacement...
The locking mechanism was replaced three times and adjusted 7 or 8 times. Worked for a while and now the battery is stuck in the bike.
And yes, the battery has been checked for cracks.
I have two Allant + 8s bikes. They both have the same issues. My LBS has worked on them at least 15 times with no luck. Did I mention that the mechanism that hold the phone consistently cracks, expelling the cellphone on the ground? This flimsy bracket has been replaced 15-20 times, most under...
So...I feel your pain. I have two Allant + 8s bikes. One I use in rain and snow, the other is for fair weather days.
Both my bikes will no longer charge my phone when connected to the Smartphone Hub. As to the Smartphone Hub, I have had about 15 of them crack during use. The last time my...
After about 500 miles riding in winter in Michigan on the Schwalbe 365, I am extremely pleased with the performance. The 365 traction on ice, snow, slush is amazing. The treads do not hold snow, even the wet sticky kind. Superior traction down to 10 degrees fahrenheit. So far it has handled...
