Agree on the need for caution around pedestrians, dog walkers, skateboarders and such. Also deer, rabbits and what I call suicidal squirrels who seem to compete to cross right in front of cyclists.

Thanks, Stefan. Now I have to wait to hear from the shop to confirm our judgement. I also learned a lesson: don’t try to identify a problem with darkly colored components in poor lighting. When the bile was put on the stand in the well lit bike shop the truth was easy to see.

I agree. Besides the variety of human natures it is also possible that different ind motor have slightly different noise profiles.

The motor noise on my SL 4 is definitely noticeable, but I usually don’t mind. The noise is often how I know the motor is assisting since the assist is so subtle.

I had looked into the Specialized app. It doesn’t connect to the watch for Heart Beats, which is my main statistical interest. The other riding and bike details are just for fun. Since I now have a separate heart monitor I should check it out.
