This needs to be sorted, they are all passing the book! Mahle Ebikemotion only sell to the manufacturer (Orbea). Orbea only sell to Orbea dealers and then the headaches start. This needs to be covered by a major cycling magazine! It’s a joke that you can’t buy parts to maintain your bike and for...
Nice 👍 If you require another hub you need to go via an Orbea dealership. I was quoted £480 GBP for one. I wanted to use a new hub but at the time quote was £800-£900!! I have Sapim CX-Ray on the front wheel and CX-Sprint on rear wheel. Both aero spokes but the latter stronger.
I find the Mahle Ebikemotion not to be fast vs regular road bike on flat or slight inclines. It performs best on steep climbs, where it will leave most cyclists except pros.
I have a bike in mind as the Ebikemotion option as it’s only 11.5kg and has everything on it I’d ever need, electronic shifting, hydraulic disc brakes and decent carbon wheels for £5k. I cannot find similar spec with a Fazua system. https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/ribble-endurance-sl-e-pro/

Fazua Pros
Removable drive system bike 13 to 10kg
60 mm torque output
Replacing drive system in 2 clicks
Wheels are normal
Fazua Cons
Heavier bike weight 13-14 kg
Uglier down tube
Any other pros or cons to add?
Ebikemotion Pros:
Aesthetically looks like normal road bike
Lighter weight 10.5-11 kg
Ebikemotion Cons:
Only 40 mm torque output
Bespoke rear wheel with hub
Battery and Hub not user serviceable
Hub change requires wheel rebuild
The limit is 15mph in the UK but I cycle at higher than that on flat, slight inclines and downhill. For me the motor is there to help me climb hills where climbing at 10-15mph is good.
