    Trek Allant+ 8S Headlight has a mind of it's own - Flashing/Constant ON.

I have same bike. The headlight will flash ONLY if the sun is coming from your back. There is some kind of sensor in the TAIL light that senses this, and signals the headlight to flash (strobe). A safety feature I guess. I figured this out with my own experiment one late afternoon: I aimed my...

    Allant headlight blinking

Again, my 8+S, with its SmartPhone Hub, has a sensor in the TAIL light, NOT on the SmartPhone panel. I KNOW this for a fact because I have verified the flashing HEADlight when the sun is behind me. I even shot a short video to prove to myself that I'm not nuts. But... I'm not sure about the...

    Allant headlight blinking

My 2020 Allant+8s has the SmartPhone Hub, and the headlight is a Trek Lync (500 lumens), and the tailight is a Trek Lync (50 lumens). I couldn't get the flashlight trick to trigger flashing mode: the only thing that worked was natural sunlight, coming from the rear. Whoever designed this system...

If you are riding with the sun at your back, the headlight starts blinking; but when you change to any other heading, it reverts back to steady "on". I was told that this...

    Allant +7 headlight

Now THAT is interesting! Gotta experiment with that. Thanks. And I'm not crazy about the Cobi.bike app, and, to me, the Smartphone hub (without the phone mounted) is kinda "blah". So I've considered installing the Kiox display, if I can obtain one. Any thoughts? And what about the available...

    Allant +7 headlight

Yeah, the headlight on my Allant 8+S (SmartPhone Hub) is ALWAYS ON; no blink-MOST of the time, ha! Emailed Bosch and was told that blinking is NOT an option with the SmartPhone Hub. That's horse puckey, because mine will blink at certain points into a ride. Don't happen every ride, I don't think...
