It is just because they have changed their tire sizes and replaced the 38 with a 40 and the 42 with the 45.
I thought the 42 were so much better than the 38 standard tires but I guess that could have been down to the compound and that I went from tubed to tubeless.
I guess the 40s are the...
I am wondering if the new Pathfinder TLR in a 45 will fit?
AI tells me that it is pretty much the same size as the 2Bliss Pros in a 42 that I have now . I have no rack on my bike and the front tyre has about 3mm of clearance at the sides. The rear tyre has about 5mm of clearance - both inflated...
Not used my Vado SL 5.0 since December as I damaged my leg quite badly and cycling and walking was out for long time. The bike was stored in the house for the cold snap and never left its hiding place till yesterday when I went for a gentle ride to the shops, I was glad of the motor that's for...
It was bundled along with a full service and I also had a new chain. I forgot that they put tax on all of that as well.
I cannot show the full bill without personal info here and there.
I remain super impressed with my Shimano XT brake upgrade.
One finger operation, lovely feel, they were better than I expected and give me a warm fuzzy feeling every time I need to use them ☺️
I might be in the market for new tyres in the new year as for sure the bike shop will suggest my I need to replace my Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss 700x42
due to wear. Now my riding has definitely changed in the last year and I am pretty much solely on the road these days I am wondering if I should look...
Well they put a watch on the tyres in the summer so they will probably convince me that they need replacing, if they are only lasting 18 months then I might have to move on from the Pathfinders.
If there is rattle in the chain ring hub area then that sounds expensive as well.
Trouble is they recommend a service every 6 months. so they will surely say I will have to book it in as I had the last one done in summer.
So that would be me down £300+ down at Christmas which is not ideal
The rattles are starting to get me down now.
There appears to be 2 different types of noises, I think one of them is chain ring area as when the bike is stationary and i wiggle the chain ring back and forth gently this definitely causes a rattle. The other one seems to be front of frame area...
I did not know the Diverge came in flat bar as well as drops. That is interesting, although it does seem expensive looking at the spec you get for the money.
I still think my ideal unassisted all-round bike would be a Trek FX Sport 6 SL, carbon everything, electric shifting, 9 KG and the 42mm...
This is kind of what I did
Put hooks in the wall and draped a thermal reflective survival blanket around the bike and installed a thermostat controlled 80W tubular heater 6 inches from the floor. It only kicks in when it gets about -1 deg
Seemed to work well last winter.
I remember when i first got the Vado SL and I mentioned on here that I could not help turning off the motor and going hell for leather over a short stretch near my house. I had forgotten that my Apple Watch recorded those attempts and when I switched Strava back on it reloaded all the data.
I...
I am using Strava at the moment, I used it a few years ago but did not really get much use out of it. I am giving it another go and trialling the subscription.
I have it communicating with iPhone and Apple Watch and the plan is to use it on the Vado SL for navigation etc and then just use the...
As I am over 60 and riding on some pretty rough roads it seems to be perfect for the kind of speed workouts I want to do. It has been upgraded with Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels, S-Works Aero bars and a more aggressive Zipp Sprint SL stem. I put some SPD-SL pedals on it now but haven't ridden it for...
