Winter is coming: how do I protect the battery?

Bought a 80W 2 foot tubular heater with a thermostat that I fixed to the lower part of the wall that the bike leans on. I also got a heavy duty heat reflective blanket that i hang from the wall over the bike. The tube gets really hot to the touch so I will just chuck away the ineffective...

Winter is coming: how do I protect the battery?

The problem is that the heating mat just doesn't work in low temperatures ie does not even get slightly warm. Move it into the house where it is more ambient and it switches on. Hopefully the tubular heater will not be as temperamental. I have bought a heat reflective blanket that I can cover...

Winter is coming: how do I protect the battery?

Hey not your fault. I researched this fairly thoroughly and got a 45W one as in theory this should be more than sufficient if wrapped around the frame. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08HPDTPDW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 It's weird though, bring it in the house and I can feel the...

Winter is coming: how do I protect the battery?

I bought one of those seedling heating mats and wrapped it around the battery. Complete waste of money as the mat will warm up if it is above 10 degrees (ie if it is indoors) but anything below that and it does not even get warm to the touch. Got a thermometer with min and max readings and it...

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Indeed. My bike workouts rarely last more than 40 mins so shorts are perfectly fine for that kind of duration. If I need it for shopping or commuting then casual wear is perfectly comfortable I find. I am not planning on sweating so that is what the turbo setting is for :)

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I got the small as I am a EU 43 and they seem perfectly sized for me. Great pedals though, one of those purchases where you cannot see yourself buying any different in the future. I will be in the market for some clip-ins as an alternative in the new year though. I have another bike holiday in...

    Skarper conversion kit is interesting.

Looks like extra DiskDrive rotors are $520  They had a USP with the ability to move the device effortlessly between bikes but if it costs that much to make a bike compatible they might have priced themselves out of the market.

    2025 Vado

Damn, I don't remember getting those with mine 🤔 I also bought mine from Balfes by the way and had it delivered like yours. Mine was shockingly set up so I hope you had better luck than I did.

Congrats! You might need to adjust the angle of those handlebars though - try a few different angles. If it seems good as it is then maybe adjust the angle of the front light.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

As suspected the derailleur had not been adjusted at all on setup. I went to my local bike shop to do the fitting as I hate doing anything mechanical these days. Sadly, they are just not very good. I vowed to stop using them earlier this year but I could not find anyone else that could schedule...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

GX Eagle AXS upgrade day! 🤔 maybe a waste of 400 english pounds as it does not feel like an upgrade at all so far. Quieter? definitely not, in fact dropping the rear wheel from stationary from about 4 inches off the ground produces alarming drivetrain rattles when previously all I heard was...

    2025 Vado

With Future shock and upgraded tubeless 700x42 Pathfinder Pro I cannot imagine needing anything more if riding on the road. Some of the roads in Surrey UK are truly awful and the bike and tires handle it all with aplomb.

    2025 Vado

The Vado SL 5.0 can be bought for £2800 at quite a few places in the UK. That narrows the gap to the 4.0 and to my mind is worth the money for the following reasons: - DT Swiss R500 tubeless ready wheelset - GX Eagle 12 speed - Future shock - Carbon fork - Mastermind TCU - Upgraded brakes

Has anybody cut down the handle bar length? Cannot help feeling approximately half inch off each side would be perfect.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

I just realised that the seat post needs to be able to route the rear light cable on the SL 5.0. If that is not possible then it is a no go.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Interesting, I like to give my SL 5.0 a little present every now and again and a carbon seat post could well be an option in the future, a little less weight and a little more compliance maybe - which one did you get may I ask?

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

The upgrade kits only comprise of the derailleur, the controller and a battery charger. I didn't think there was any special requirement for a XX1 cassette?

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

So I am pretty much decided that my next upgrade for my Vado SL 5 will be the Eagle AXS upgrade. In the UK the GX upgrade kit is around 400 pounds (~520 USD) but I have seen a couple of very heavily discounted XX1 upgrade kits for around 550 pounds We all like shiny things of course, is the XX1...

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

What a curious bike. They added a carbon frame and SL 1.2 as many asked and then completely negated the benefits with a heavier battery and fat trekking tires.
