Its very serious comedy.
You @Chargeride remind me of my riding buddy Krzysiek. This 74-yo man is basically silent on our rides unless someone mentions "bike paths". That triggers him, and he produces long sermons about how the authorities build protected bike paths to get rid of the cyclists off the road :D

As for me, I'm grateful for those 13 km of excellent asphalt protected bike paths along high intensity traffic roads on a 100 km route. For instance, we had to pedal for several last kilometres with heavy traffic only because the road is under new construction and bike paths have not been made yet.

We just got a bike lane installed in Norfolk, VA on Granby St. It has these huge curbs to keep the cars from going into the lane! The locals freaked out who live on this dangerous street but they're are old and don't ride bicycles anymore, so their opinions don't count. The few times we've used this path its been great. One day I'll try to get some pictures.

Seems like the huge curbs would help with debris getting kicked into the bike lanes. Our city now adds "share the road" bike lanes with new streets or repaving of older primary side streets. Unfortunately, all the debris in the car lanes get kicked into the bike lanes (broken auto parts from accidents, nails/screws, goathead stickers, glass, etc...). Most of my flats work commuting are from running over that kind of man made debris and were not prevented with Mr. Tuffy+sealant (always the rear tires). Lucky to live in a city with wide level sidewalks with ramps at every corner as a back-up.

I think you are taking my humour seriously
My Mother (who was a microbiologist and who kindled my interest in chemistry) once told me when I was a boy: "There are strong acids such as sulphuric acid and weak ones, for instance the sulphurous one. The same can be said about some people: some of them are wittic but others are wittous". I regret her words do not translate to English well.
