A version 2.0 of the Argo cargo box bike conversion kit may be coming in 2025. The Argo website is taking pre-orders, although the timeline remains unclear and it’s only possible to sign up for the pre-production newsletter after you commit to buy. If/when it arrives a design change over the first gen Argo may be a Tektro hydraulic front disk brake, presumably with its own separate brake handle (unclear). An Argo 2.0 would remain only compatible with rear hub motor e-bikes.

Version 2.0 is now advertised on the Argo website with delivery from September. It’s still compatible only with rear hub motor e-bikes

Sounds like Argo got scammed by a factory in Taiwan and the 2.0 won’t be going into production. Sad, since it was the only conversion kit that would be available in the US.

Can this kit be removed from the bike when not needed? It would be awesome to have and install for big days and removed for regular trips.

While researching cargo solutions like a can am maverick x3 rear cargo box, I also noticed that if the new Argo version arrives, a design change over the first-generation model may be a Tektro hydraulic front disc brake, presumably with its own separate brake handle (though this remains unclear). The updated features sound promising, especially the potential addition of a Tektro hydraulic front disc brake. However, I'd wait for official confirmation on the final specifications and release timeline before placing a pre-order. It's also important to remember that, if released, the Argo 2.0 is still expected to be compatible only with rear hub motor e-bikes.
