What's Your Fave MTB Pair of Shorts

I have 2 pair of those. Purchased through Amazon about 5 years ago. A little better price there. I like them, not my favorite, but good. The only thing I don't like about them is the closure above the fly. They use a hook type of closure, like dress slacks, not a snap or button. Maybe they updated that on the current line.

My favorite shorts are 3 pair from Tenn Outdoors in the UK. Unfortunately they went out of business a year ago. The nice thing about Tenn is the quality materials. Some people want/need leg closures to keep air, bugs, rain out and they included those.

Cut-off pair of sweat pants with a really good built-in belt, cut short enuff to show off all my cool scars that never tan.😎 I´m
thinking about getting some tats that make the stitch marks look like a zipper.

What a great idea! Send us all a picture when you’re done with that!😂

Hoping for more replies. I need the help. There's just no way to know other than real first hand reports. I don't want to have the bike show up and then find I hate the one pair of shorts I will have and who knows if I'll be able to stand those.

I'm a big guy and those Amazon loose fitting biking shorts still don't fit me. I just wear basketball shorts. :(

That Zoic short looks pretty good to me. I'm partial to the Endura Humvee II 3/4 short, aka "knickers shorts". The knickers do a great job in protecting my upper legs down to the knees from getting torched by the sun on an all-day ride. And all Endura's feature a liner short that can be clicked into place on the short. Quality materials, lotsa pockets; I have 2 of their knickers, one going on 5 or 6 years old, the other 2 plus years as well as one of their higher cut Humvee shorts.

I generally rode around with Levi's jean shorts/cut off jeans, but in the warmer weather, they're a bit much. Once I got a nice light belt from Grip6.com they're a lot better, but...

CDN price 109.99, but MEC had them on sale a few weeks ago, so I grabbed them and a pair of Five Ten Freeriders.

I'm really happy with these shorts (and the shoes, too). The shorts are super light/comfortable, only two pockets. No liner/padding. Just the right amount of stretch and give. Shorts with the velcro side tabs to prevent plumber butt and bunching in general are the only thing I want to wear on rides now, and will probably look for long pants in a similar style.

They especially work well if you've got some quality underwear. I've given up on cotton, and now only wear bamboo viscose. It completely beats cotton in every way, IMHO, and not just for cycling. There's other brands, but I prefer Moxy&Zen

Disclosure: I know the owners of Moxy&Zen, but I don't get free underwear from them (though a few years back I did get a couple of pairs to help them decide on testing sizing).

I like the cycling stuff at MEC, but most shorts have inseam lengths that are more like pants for me. Those Sombrio Badass shorts are 15" inseams. I suppose I could just call them "Plus Fours".

I'm generally the same, but these I don't mind, even though they're well below the knee.
