Waterproofing?

Water proofing question. Where I live there are lots of logging roads, and gravel roads with potholes and water. I am more likely to putter along than ride like a motocross rider. I would like to use the bike for metal detecting, small game hunting, and fishing. I ordered a Lectric XP ST but am worried after reading reports of water not agreeing with the bike as mine will see puddles and mud. For that reason I am contemplating going with a Rad Mini ST instead. But I wanted to see if anyone had any advice on water and the Lectric XP.
