Verve+ motor cuts out on bumps

Hi folks My wife’s Trek Ebike just started cutting out when she hits bumps. The computer screen reads, “Off” and “Error”. The motor will stop when the rear wheel is dropped, too. The bike starts up again when started. What do you believe is causing this problem?

I assume so. The question is where. Battery seems snug. The mechs are checking firmware.
