Vado SL2 - Aluminum Frame - Summer 25 ??

Welcome aboard! Since the forum search function is currently down, want to make sure you know about our SL club:

If you get a chance, please share some photos of your ebike and where you ride it. Two of my favorite threads, made just for that purpose:

Lots of great ride logs in the 2024 version of the latter. Just change the "2025" in the link to "2024".

Did you know Jeremy you could edit your "Well-Known Member" to anything else? Old users have special privileges!
Really? How? Would love to grab "Very Stable Genius" before you-know-who does.

PS: Never mind, figured it out. You may address me as " Your VSG" going forward.

Did you know the word "brain" was "mózg" (pronounced "moosk/musk") in Polish? :)

Returning to the subject of the original post. Big rumours swirling around Spesh in the emtb forums in U.K. this week; Levo fanboys have been desperately waiting & waiting for new Levo/kenevo update. They were due at the start (they say) of ‘24 but like everything else in bike biz slowed by downturn.

Now this latest rumour has it that Spesh have now pivoted and are doing a whole new emtb model and not with a Brose motor but a brand new powerful Mahle one. Saying Brose been delayed last year and had tech problems etc and couldn’t meet Spesh requirements or something. Rumours suggest in light of the DJI success (Amflows beating all sales expectations) Spesh have changed tack to compete. I should point out that these emtb forums are rife with rumours and theories and frequently hot air. But this new full fat motor from Mahle rumour is very precise & intriguing if true.

Plus the Amflow hysteria is real and constantly the ‘talk of the town’. It has a whole Tesla/Apple tech bro excitement to it. Ironically reviewers say the bike itself rides almost like a Levo! Like you know, they just copied the geo. Which won’t make Specialized happy. For better or worse DJI seem to be a classic outsider ‘disruptor’ moving into the emtb space. Now forcing established brands to compete with equally lightweight battery & powerful motor combo. 19.2kg for a full sus 120nm motor & 600wh battery is pretty remarkable. And with the price at same or lower then competition- really put cat among pigeons.

I’m hoping Spesh do come out with new models & an alloy SL this year as they have been quiet of late. But also there is such a battle now of battery/motor tech when I kind of wish they’d just do more on reliability and ease of repair of the already great motors out there!
