Vado 1.0

I am 75 years old and I live in the desert, and I ride up until 109 degrees. So, after viewing videos for a years, I bought a Vado 1.0. I bought the 1.0 because I had great lights and horn and rack, which the bike store transferred for me. I love the bike. By not using assist when on a mild downgrade, or on a cool evening, and mostly using the lowest level of assist, I can get 40 miles on a charge. I weigh 150 pounds. When I hit a head wind or a hill, I often go to the second level of assist. I have no regrets. But, I do have a problem: the bike does not return cumulative mileage. The trip odometer works and resets easily. But I don't know how far that I have gone all together. I have emailed Specialized and they gave me bad information. Then, they told me to consult the manual, to no avail. I have the display that is removable. In my last email to Specialized, about a week ago, I asked them to, rather than give me a rote answer, to actually check a Vado 1.0 and see what happens. I have not heard back. This is my third Specialized bike and I am not happy. If cumulative mileage is not a function for my bike, they should at least tell me or provide a fix, or something - anything but stonewalling me; I find that offensive. The shop can't give me an answer either. I wondered if anyone has had this problem or could shed some light.

Maybe I have not fully understood your problem but I ask this anyway as you haven’t mentioned the Set button
If you press the Set button on your handlebar controller doesn’t the trip distance change to odometer (total distance) ?
There should be a symbol that looks like an H to the right of the displayed numbers for odo mode.
The set button should let you toggle between Trip, Odo, and Ride time.
