Ui6 Grinding Noise

My wife recently purchased a Ui6 now with about 40 miles on it. Today as she was riding in PAS 2 she heard a grinding noise when she was pedaling coming from the motor area, then suddenly her m motor quit, including the throttle. After resting a few minutes, she started it up again, went about a mile before the noise came back and then it quit again. Anyone else have this happen? I've sent an email to Magnum as well as tried to reach them by phone but to date have heard nothing back. My LBS is about 2 hours away and I'd like to be able to know what to expect before I take this trip.

Yes but my motor doesn't quit just some sort of "out of phase" grinding and vibration. Scared the heck out of me. I start off in 0 to get bike moving then use a high setting to get zooming. Always seems to occur at take off. Hope someone can give the problem a name so I know what to tell supplier.
