Hi, still waiting on my bike but trying to get ahead with getting the rooftop carrier worked out. I wanted to know the maximum width of the down tube where the battery is internally installed, perhaps just below the bottle cage mounting bolts. This will determine if I can use a clamp style carrier. Can anyone help me out please?

Thanks!

It's 8.5cm wide x 6.6cm 'high' (to a reasonable degree of accuracy but didn't use my calipers).

THANKS!!! Won’t fit any of those type racks at that width so I’ll get a fork mount type. The problem then is the front axle on Vado SL is 12 x 110mm “Boost” size which many mounts don’t fit. THULE has a pricey new one that does so I’ll splurge on it.

Update: Back to the drawing board. Using a fork mount type rack requires me to remove that nice front fender. Looking at other options now. For the price of some of these I can build my own perhaps.

A few friends have also run into this problem. I'm surprised that rack designers/manufacturers have not come up with a suitable solution. Whereas I just get wet or road sprayed!!!
