Towing a trailer?

Hey guys! My Evo City Wave has arrived!!! It's beautiful and so much fun to ride. I'm excited to ride with the kids. My question is that with the quick release on the rear wheel, do I need any special adapter for the hitch to tow a trailer? Have any of you have experience towing a trailer with your bike?

Thanks J.R. I actually have a 2016 City Wave. Sorry I'm not very knowledgeable on bikes, but from your reply, I'm assuming I have to buy another through axle to replace the one that comes with the bike to tow a trailer. Is that correct?

Likely you will need a longer skewer or axle, depending on the thickness of the hitch.

I believe the 2016 has the fixed axle with quick release nuts. I have those too on my '15 Evo 29er. It will be more difficult, not impossible, to add a trailer hitch to the axle. The axle and quick release is proprietary to BH and with the TMM4 torque sensor at the right drop-out, it might be wise to add a saddle post, or rear rack mount for a trailer.
